Can't load on chromebook

Hi

I cannot listen to any shoutcast stations on my chromebook laptop. Chromebook OS not chrome, to be clear. It tries to download the .pls file instead. I've download a couple of apps but it didn't work.

I've tried Pandora and it works. A couple of other radio websites also don't work if they use .m3u files. Chrome tries to download them too.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Yeah. It doesn't work on Xubuntu running Chrome either. I can use pls files and open them with VLC, but you don't have VLC. Webmasters should probably be providing html5 audio tags so it will play in the browser. You might ask your radio provider. They probably want your Chromebook to work too,

Really, launching an external player to play audio and video streams is kinda deprecated. This is now a function of your web browser.

VLC isn't available for Chromebook as far as I know, is it?
I'll see if I can contact the provider.
