midi file playback bug/weirdness?

5.581

my midi file no longer plays as loud as it used to. is the RG db suppression applied to it? was this always the case?

basically, its very very quiet. i have winamp set to play tracks at -6db if they have no RG tag. since it seems impossible to get a RG tag for a midi file or even the ML, maybe the -6 is applied to it?

if so, i think first of all it shouldn't be, b/c its a midi file, and secondly that that may be new since 5.572

am i off base here? anyone else having similar issues?

in any case, i only had one midi file, and i found it on the web as a mp3, so i'm not too concerned about this, but others should be aware. not even sure if this was my issue or not tho.

in_midi never was updated to use newer API functions, including the global playback preferences for 24Bit or ReplayGain. If you think about the structure of midi files, it's clear, that midi files never could support RG at all.

Even if you enable Sampling and send the output to Winamp's output system, I doubt, that the setting for files without RG would have any effect on midi files.
