Shoutcast on a LAN

I want to publicly run Shoutcast and i'm connected on a LAN in my house. When I click connect, it says "Connecting..", then says "Not connected". Should I go through a proxy when connecting or what? I'm really dying to set up this station.. any help would be appreciated.
