Tags problem + iPod and SharePod

I have this problem with my iPod I ask you guys to help me if you can. TIA.

I prefer keeping my mp3 files with this naming structure:

Artist - Title

(And nothing more, so I keep all sort of tags empty)

Problem is, when I open SharePod to view the songs on the iPod I get this structure:

Unknown artist - Artist - Title

What I want? An app that can read the Artist - Title from the mp3 files without tags and generate tags for Artist - Title so they don't appear as Unknown artist on SharePod or iPod.

I have Auto-Tag enabled in Winamp, but AFAIK it allows the user to apply the whole stuff it finds online or nothing at all...

Can you suggest an app or way via Winamp to make that?

do it manually. I always do.

that or get rid of itunes altogether, no real reason to use crap software.

Needs more moo-cows.

Thanks, but I too hate iTunes–I use SharePod instead (no installation required).

I'm about 95% positive that you can select exactly what id3 tags you want a nice little program called TuneUp to fill in for you.

I absolutely love this program for many, many reasons.

However, you may have to swallow your pride for a few seconds as I believe it only works within iTunes. Don't worry; it's okay. Fixing music with this utility in iTunes is about the only thing I use iTunes for as well because it sucks.
