Rick Santorum Declares War On Heavy Metal

Quote:
In the past, Santorum has accused heavy metal of being the cause of some of the worst crimes in American history including the attempt on the life of Ronald Reagan in 1981, 9/11 and the passage of Obama’s Health Care Bill. He stepped up his rhetoric in a speech on Wednesday when he implied that heavy metal is the cause of many forms of mental illness as well as lactose intolerance.
http://tyrannyoftradition.com/2012/0...n-heavy-metal/

Please tell me how in the hell can ANY form of music cause lactose intolerance ......

Some? I'm sure this election will well prepare Santorum for his future career as an actor in laxative commercials.

Actually though, this isn't anywhere unique to Santorum. Blaming media (remember video games) for crazies is a bi-partisan folly. Hillary mooed at it quite a bit.

That's back when Saturday Night Live was actually worth watching. Now they suck so much they can't even afford to keep the title and have truncated it to "SNL".

SNL comes and goes. Usually they have one skit that makes me laugh. It's definitely a DVR thing. I usually get done watching SNL in 15 minutes.

Back in 1978, we weren't just tough, we were flammable. One spark and your Aquanet hair spray could burst into flames rendering you a smoldering blob of polyester sweater vest.

And as Richard Pryor observed "When you are running down the road on fire, people will get out of your way!"

It's typical. We were a generation that gave so much, just so you could wear a T-shirt and not have to listen to Bob Denver. Lives were lost, but most of us think it was worth it.

It's almost too easy. Home schooled Christian dude running for President. He seems to be a pretty honest guy though. No big scandals. A little one here or there.

And yeah... he's not as nutty as the press is painting him.

Ron Paul is probably the only one of these guys that would push us in the right direction, but wow.... that wouldn't be painless.......

A conservative blog I read sometimes said that "Obama was fiddling with Rome burned".

I think there's a whole lot of fiddling going on.

Enough to go around for both parties.

My read on Santorum is that he's made anti-gay, anti-abortion stuff his primary focus. That's all well and good..... but right now.... this country has bigger fish to fry...

How about a realistic economic plan? I don't find any Presidential candidates with that.

A college economics/business ethics professor from a state university perhaps... That would be quite interesting. If those areas were effectively addressed by a true expert on the topics, foreign policy, military, labor, education, and other issues would likely follow by naturally fixing themselves.

Homosexuality and abortion debating will just waste time if you ask me. Too many people are stubborn on one side or another. Our standard of living really isn't dependent on those issues, and to me, those issues shouldn't be a presidential concern and should be reserved for other governmental offices.

Gay is wrong. Abortion is wrong. There isn't any debate. Just a bunch of liberals trying to find soft words, subterfuge, and euphemisms to rationalize wrong. Some delusion that empowering women involves free baby killing enters into it. It seems like the more babies you can get killed free, the more you are seen as a champion of women's rights. Let's all let out a cheer now....

>A college economics/business ethics professor

I think we could lose academia and lawyers. Maybe some guy running a construction company. Some college might be good. Nothing more than a bachelors degree. We have an academic lawyer now. Fat lot of good that he is.

We might miss euphemisms and softening phrases to sell us a line of bullshit, but I doubt it.

Issues aren't as black and white as "right" and "wrong". With that mentality, nothing can get done. Is abortion (killing) wrong, or only for certain reasons? Is hunting (killing) for furs wrong? How about hunting (killing) for food? How about flyswatting? Everyone has their own line to draw; some draw it pretty far one way, some the opposite, most somewhere in between. How is homosexuality "wrong"? Does it hurt anyone, or does some established religion forbid it? What about other religions or those that don't subscribe to religion? You just can't expect your own morals/ethics/values to match those of the rest of the "melting pot" public, and therefore won't get very far trying to get those things turned into laws unless an overwhelming majority of people agree.

Issues are right and wrong. How you deal with those issues is where you dance with the devil.

I wouldn't have near as much trouble with this if people weren't trying to change things that are clearly wrong into no big deal.

It doesn't work anyway. There isn't enough whitewash. I think people should have wide latitude in being wrong. Where I stop is when I'm supposed to say black is white. Be wrong. We're all wrong in some way. I've been wrong a lot.

While we're being gray, we better keep our eye on what black and white are.

Abortion is probably gonna stay legal. I think just about anyone with a brain would thing that 50 million of them in the US since the 1970's is too many.

The gay community has serious problems. Risk factors that the rest of us really can't even conceive.

Now, with compassion, we should deal with these things. But dealing with it doesn't involve whitewash. We ought to have each others back. That's even when we screw the pooch.

We leave black and white alone.

Humans never live up to their ideals, so those ideals should be white, not gray.

That doesn't mean we go on a witch hunt. It means we deal with people kindly, without becoming an enabler of whatever makes them a bad risk.

There's been a little back and forth firing between the left and the ordinarily left leaning Catholics. The shot fired by Catholics is that a hundred bishops told Catholics not to support Komen because Komen was giving millions to planned Parenthood. Komen and Planned Parenthood were both trying to be quiet about the association, but that didn't work.

Komen was getting killed on getting donations, so Komen quit Planned Parenthood. They had a "ladies agreement" with each other not to mention it. Well that didn't work either. Now the "ladies" are trying to choke each other.

I think Obama was engaging in a bit of return fire. PP being de-funded several million dollars a year .... well...... That just wouldn't pander any feminists.

This is why you are seeing so many Komen ads. You may now donate to Komen without supporting Planned Parenthood.

It might not be, but this looks like a little push... a little shove to me.

Morals vs. Economics is a mofo when it comes to abortion.

On one hand, killing a human life is pretty damn cold. I mean really f'ing cold. On the other hand, you'll find that the <$1K price of an abortion is far smaller than the hundred thousand or more of public funding in cheese checks the kid's guardian would receive for raising him/her in a place that can't seem to provide financial support on their own while keeping a mom tending to a baby when she could be out learning or working.

That's strictly financial speaking. I certainly would not advocate abortion in almost any case being an adopted person myself (in some ways, one could say I should have been dead before birth considering my biological parents' stories), but I can still recognize that a lot of others in this country see the abortion issue in a more liberal light, and that those people are large in numbers and very influential in their votes.

That's rather shining a turd. Almost no one thinks abortion is a good thing. That is, except the industry we pay to do them. They have been very capitalist about the undertaking.

Paid feminists seem to like them too. Dead babies are the measure of how well they are standing up for women's rights.

We bought a pig in a poke with Roe v. Wade.... all the partial birth stuff... babies aborted alive...

There isn't enough whitewash to paint this issue in a liberal light. It sucks.

Poor women have their kids. These 50 million abortions weren't mostly drug addict, welfare cases. They were us. Welfare mommies for one reason or another don't seem to want to take us up on our kind offer to off their kids.
