Multiple bitrates
Hey,
I know a lot of radios that support 256, 192 as well as 128 kbit/s. How do I do this with SHOUTcast, that everyone plays the same and so? I don't look through that way. Greetings Luca Stratmann |

Just add it in your encoder, and make sure your host plan supports this. Example; Host advertises: Upto 320kbps for $30/month, this is good and you can have multiple bit rates to the max, all of them adds up. For example, 192k and 64k streams, total= 256k

@NurLutix: If you are hosting DNAS on a own box, then you can add different mountpoints on the same instance and then you have to feed each mountpoint with your encoder (e.g. playlist management software) in different bitrates on the same time.

Hey,
When I create a new Mountpoint, where can I find it? If the Mountpoint is called 192, for example, what do I have to do? Greetings Luca Stratmann |

With DNAS I mean not the streaming service - I mean the server software, which can you install on a own server. It seems this is a dinosaur today - but ya you can run your own SHOUTcast on a own server with Linux or Windows - and ya it works really fine without this bullshit of YP and without the latest crap payment wall version. v2.5.5.733 ftw. And ya, there is a config-file, where you can add so many mountpoints as you need. It doesn't matter how you call it - important is with which bitrate you are feeding it with your enconder.
SHOUTcast DNAS is a streaming server not a source-manager. ![]() |

I created the Mountpoints via Centova Cast. But where can I find them now?
Example: yourip.com:theport/mountpointtest? Or how does that work? |

Restart your server. Click admin to go to your main server. Click admin login and you’ll see all of them and their status. For connection details go to source connection details on the left. Or attach this to your main server url after port number /admin.cgi?mode=sources
