Considering how bad the last couple of Batman movies were, I'm bit apprehensive about seeing this one.

Yeah, but it has a semi decent director in Chris Nolan and a fairly decent cast set already,so hope are slightly higher than they were for the last one.

I mean, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson, it has to be in with a chance....

The only REAL Batman.

I am so important I feel the need to let it be known like a liberal discovering the internets for the first time. Uh hur hur hur. I also wash myself with a rag on a stick.

Concerning this film:

First it was supposed to be Batman vs Superman, which sounded an awfully lot like The Dark Knight Returns, a very dark and good comic written by Frank Miller.

Batman Year One, which is (From what I understand) this particular film, is based on another comic written by Frank Miller of the same name.

Frank Miller is credited for saving Batman from the campiness of the Adam West version by tagging Batman as a dark Vgilante torn apart by his parent's death.
"For me, Batman was never funny. Gotham City was cold shafts of concrete lit by cold moonlight, windswept and bottomless, fading to a cloud bank of city lights, a wet, white mist, miles below me. The street sounds were a soft, sad roar, unbroken and unchanging... A shadow fell across me, from above. Wings flapped, close by and almost silent... It rose into space, its wings spread wide, then fell...past me, its shadow sliding across walls, growing to swallow whole buildings, lit by the clouds below. The shadow faded into the clouds. It was gone."--Frank Miller
Tim Burton was a fan of the Frank Miller version of events concerning Batman, and reflected it in the script and design of the set in Batman.
Joel Shumacher, credited for destroying The Batman mythos and popularity, essecially screwed things up by trying to revamp the campiness of the first Batman series which was a fun romp, but over all quite silly.

That about all I know about it. Seems interesting enough.

What?

Do you mean Batman, who stars in a Comic Book, fights crime in Gotham City, and doesn't have Magical Powers like the mojority of the rest of DC Comics do?

He doesn't save the whole world, he helps people in need. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but he's also Fake. And that means that the Comics are not based on reality in any REAL sense?

Wait, you posted in the wrong thread, right? You couldn't possibly have made that ridiculous statement in a thread you know nothing about about a comic book character you know nothing about, Right?

Well, according to his filmography, I would say Nolan is a pretty good director, not only "decent" (just my opinion though, I liked his movies much).

- Insomnia (2002)
- Memento (2000)
- Following (1998)

Following and Memento were very good.

they aren't magical powers, but supernatural... which in DnD rules, can work in an anti-magic field

I would prefer to Batman beyond story in the big screen...

I know Tim Burton would make a very good job.

The search for the ultimate signature continues apace. I have journeyed from the peaks of Nepal to the depths of oceanic trenches. I have crossed deserts, jungles, swamps, savannas, steppes and frozen wastelands. I have consulted with seers, swamis, sages, scholars and savants. The peregrination proceeds purposefully.

I just think that new batmobile is pee-ewwe ugly. I think part of what people who like Batman, well, like, is the aesthetic of Batman. I'm sorry, but this reminds me of the James Bond movies going from Aston Martin to Mercedes Benz. Somehow it loses something. Well for me anyway, it loses something.

Maybe they're just trying to make Batman look tough via his car. Since Joel Schumacher turned the franchise into a super-poofy extravaganza.

Im looking forward to it. Looks like it could just about save the Batman canon from where it was heading after the last couple of movies.

I think the Christian Bale version of Batman is by far the best! (the movies I should say, I think Michael Keaton was a great Batman)

the movies are much better when painting Batman in a dark light and offering villains that are just as dark, if not more dark

I am eagerly awaiting the next movie!
