Ok I just got a phone call from some guy that works for some company and wanted to know about my radio listening habbets, so to say.
I wasnot thinking and said ok, it was fun I got to listen to different sampls of music and got to rate it. then he asked thing of waht I want form a radio station. it was cool. i had nothing to do so ya.
Whop else has had this happen to them?

Im I just crazy to accept that kind of phone calls phone calles?
Well i dont want to insult the illegal imegrants working at AT&T wanting me to switch long distance. hell it must have ben hard for them to get past customes and whatnot, and even harder to find a job. So what should I just blow the guy off that just learned to speak english?

i just strike up a telemarketer conversation then hang up in the middle of it. that is always fun. or i push flash twice and they think i hung up. then i hang up.

Telemarketers usually start with a templated speech, so I can tell it's a telemarketer. As soon as I know it's a telemarketer, I dial a number on the phone, and pretend I'm ordering a pizza. That, or I pretend I'm a geriatric who's fallen in the tub, and forgot where he lives.

of course the classic alien abduction, parents showering together routine works too.

i tried talking in spanish, but they relayed me to someone else. that was quite recent as well. Indiana has a ban on telemarketing in effect... sometime now or later so i was swamped with last minute calls.

Telemmarketers work on minimum wage, and make extra off commission. Thus they will foam at the mouth at any sign of interest.

Of course at the end of their spiel either:

Go "Ohh OK I think I'll order 6 ____ let me my credit c...OH GOD NO DONT SHOOOT ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH hang up)"

Turn the tables: My personal favorite, before you accept the sale, ask them if they are interested to know that Jesus loves them and died for their sins, and that god is great and that you would love to show them your church...

I signed up for the do not call list, yet, my dad still listens to telemarketers.

But he kept the telemarketer calling for more details about refinancing the house and then after a week he said..I dont think we want to refinance the house. Then he hung up.

Now. when I answer I give them an attatude but if they call I think Ill try:
¿usted habla español? then when I get someone who speaks spanish
Sprechen Sie Deutsches then when I get the german operator
Vous parlez français Then when I get the french operator:
Parlate italiano then If they have someone who asks me which language I want to speaak in
"What are you saying? I have no idea what you are saying. I only speak english!" (I love altavist!)
Then hang up and laugh really hard! I hope a telemarketer calls this week!
