sc_serv - ports
Background:
2 local machines Machine 1 = P100 with RH 7.0 using ipchains (acts as a gateway & firewall) External IP 66.67.197.70 Internal 192.168.0.1 Uses crossover cable to connect to Machine 2 Machine 2 = Athlon 1000Ghz with Windows ME WinAmp2 w/Shoutcast plugin Internal IP 192.168.0.2 Problem: I've install the proper ShoutCast server for my nix box I have edited the sc_serv.conf properly When starting ./sc_serv (as users or root) I receive the following: [SHOUTcast] DNAS/Linux v1.8.9 (date) starting up... [main] pid # [main] loaded config from sc_serv.conf [main] initializing (usermax:32 portbase:9000)... [main] No ban file found (sc_serv.ban) [main] No rip file found (sc_serv.rip) [main] opening source socket [main] error opening source socket! FATAL ERROR! Some other process is using this port! I have tried using different ports above and below 1024 to no avail. Any suggestions? |

your firewall is blocking the ports you need to open up the shoutcast port and the shoutcast port + 1?

Two things:
1) Don't run sc_serv as root! 2) Set SrcIP back to ANY. Tom |
