How to truly impress clients...

I was in the airport VIP lounge en route to Seattle a couple of weeks ago. While in there, I noticed Bill Gates sitting comfortably in the corner, enjoying a drink.

I was meeting a very important client who was also flying to Seattle, but she was running a little bit late.

Well, being a straightforward kind of guy, I approached the Microsoft chairman, introduced myself, and said, "Mr. Gates, I wonder if you would do me a favor."

"Yes?"

"I'm sitting right over there," pointing to my seat at the bar, "and I'm waiting on a very important client. Would you be so kind when she arrives as to come walk by and just say, 'Hi, Ray,'?"

"Sure."

I shook his hand and thanked him and went back to my seat.

About ten minutes later, my client showed up. We ordered a drink and started to talk business.

A couple of minutes later, I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was Bill Gates.

"Hi, Ray," he said.

I replied, "F *ck off, Gates, I'm in a meeting."

He arranges it so Gates looks like he knows him (Hi Ray) and then brushes him off- get it? Wouldn't you be impressed if Bill gates said "Hey Xerxes" and I shooed him away?

I'd be suspicious, but that's just me.

I do not actually see what is wrong with the guy personally. If he said hello to me, I would shake his hand and offer him a drink.

(Although I would be interested to know how he knew my name).

I got the joke. That's pretty funny! Yeah, that would probably impress a client, all right!

"We are fortunate: we are alive; we are powerful; the welfare of our civilization and our species is in our hands. If we do not speak for Earth, who will? If we are not committed to our own survival, who will be?" -Carl Sagan

Haha! I get it now that I've re-read it over again...

Word.

A very close Japanese friend I knew a while ago once said to me "Watashi no koto wo oboeta, onegai shimasu...Yakusoku?"

I forgot his name though...

I'd want to talk to the guy. Hell, he turned a two-bit, no-product company into the wealthiest corporation in the world.

(He got your name from the Word documents your computer has been sending him. )

It's a nice concept that bill gets loads of word documents sent to him. Not very likley is it though, I mean the smallest word document is like 2 meg!

Good joke e_h

I thought it was hilarious

I have some true stories to tell about the Delta Crown rooms but my hand is hurting right now and I cant type much more.

Some of you would be amazed at what the rich and famous really do when out there in the real world.

Big hugs everyone!

some one should hack bill gates house network and turn it into linux. then maybe he would improve windows security
or he might even use linux for the windows kernel if he hasn't already. hehe

anywhoo id have a quick normal conversation with bill then i would go back to the client. just me... he wouldnt fly coach anyway. charter planes and private jets ya know.

Well, Windows NT is POSIX compliant, so it wouldn't be much of an ordeal to make it compliant with Linux, but that compatability sure as hell won't happen from the Microsoft end.
