users cant connect to my radio.

hey.

ok, i browsed the forums, tried to set this up for hours but cant find any help to get this to work.

i want to set up a radio on my computer, to switch it on sometimes when my online friends r around.

in the following, i will show u, what i did, and what i get.

my system:
cpu type: amd thunderbird 1000
firewall: blackice
winamp ver: 2.77
os: win2k pro sp2

i dled the winamp plugin (im using a working version of winamp, i already checked this), i dled the server, both from official site. i set the server up like the following:

i switched off my firewall (blackice).

i created a listen.pls file like this:

File1=nimrod316.serveirc.com:8000
Title1=gut radio

and upped it on my webiste,
http://www.seelenkrieger.de/gut-irc/listen.pls.

i configured the winamp plugin as it was said in the readme file.

i started the server, an error message occured:
[main] error opening client socket! FATAL ERROR! Some other process is using this port!

anyways i was able to connect with the plugin to the server:
[source] listening for connection on port 8001
[source] connected from 127.0.0.1

i loaded a ton of mp3 files in winamp and played one with shuffle on.

i asked my friend to click the url hyperlink. he told me that winamp opened but played the default jingle file.

after that i tested my server at
http://www.radiotoolbox.com/cantheygetin with the following result:
nimrod316.serveirc.com:8000 is Closed

Reason Given: Connection refused
More about this error: This essentially means that the port is open to the internet but has no services associated with it. There is no firewall protection on this port.

i closed the server and watched my connections with netstat -n. no (other) apps were found, using port 8000 or 8001.
