What is the best way for my to configure my stream to be as bufferless as possible?

I noticed Digitally Imported's streams hardly ever buffer, and when I first connect the starting buffer goes by very rapid, yet my configurations on my streams go by slower then D.I's, even though I have the same amount of bandwith available.

What type of configurations would you guys recommend for me to set up to provide the optimal streaming experience?
