Its actually quite easy to hack explorer.exe to change the start button...and a few other things while youre at it. But for obvious reasons, im not gonna describe how to do it. You'll need a decompiler like reshacker to do it.

Try a google search.

Read this thread - it tells you how to create a desktop shortcut to lock your computer when you're away from it.

There's no need to tell me when I'm right;
I operate on that principle exclusively and with absolute certainty

liquidmotion: old joke:

Did you know that if you play the XP disc backwards it plays a demonic message?

Even worse: Play it forewards and it installs XP!

If you put a windows disc in your Car's Cd player does your car crash?

my fav tweak there is how to remove msn messenger. there's also a good xp tech support forum.

prevents MS from collecting information via error reporting, wmp, and also can remove msn messenger. lots of other paranoia stuff.

MS's very own page to download powertoy tweaks. there's things to tweak grouping, setup virtual desktops, or even kill those annoying balloons.

the unofficial official xp tweak thread, we can refer back to this four years from now.

Make sure to turn off the network firewall if you're already running a firewall. I believe it is turned on by default.
If windows update says you need to update your AMD K-7 processor when you have an XP...DONT. It will fux0r you up. Trust me, I've done it before.

No you won't. You'll need a hex editor.

Just do like he said, and search Google.

If you want the 9x styled task bar, where if a Window changes, it doesnt stay on top of all your windows flashing. Windows XP wont give you that style. It's either it's always visible, always hidden under all your windows, or will steal your window focus when a window changes.

"Welcome to the Island of people who know too much."..."Did you really think balloons would stop him?!"
See what I'm listening too.
