Somethin stupid I made listening to Limp Bizkit - One of Those Days.
I said it in the preset, but I'll say it here anyway: This is just me messin around, and in no way is a show of my full capabilities as an evil AVS scientist. Buahahahaha. Ha. I know it sucks, but I couldn't help myself
![]() I started out with something that really sucked, then I kept adding on to it hoping it would help. It didn't, but I hid it with that vu-strober. So yeah, it is t3h ub3r-suxx0rz0rz0r. Limp Bizkit is so inspired...

That doesn't even look like a newbie type preset, too much stuff such as buffer saves, a customized superscope, and many effect lists. It just... well.. looks like a preset that sucks...

Not that Limp Bizkit is a good band anyhow.
*ducks for flying objects* Some faves of mine: - Orbital - Massive Attack - Hooverphonic - Lamb - Röyksopp - Faithless (though they're known for bouncy stuff, their CDs are actually *very* relaxing) - Björk - Aphex Twin (when I'm in the mood) - Underworld |

I like too many bands to list right here, but my favorite remains: WIND MACHINE!!! woot. (new age mostly, jazz folk and rock sometimes) "guilt is the cause of more disauders than history's most obscene marorders" --E. E. Cummings |

What's all the fuss about?
Wow... someone game enough to admit not liking Bizkit. Kudos to you.
I'd do the same but then i'd probably get hit by a flood of scathing reviews. Then everyone will stop looking at my presets. Then someone will come to my home and beat over the back of the head. Then i'll wake up in a shallow grave in nearby bushland (if i wake up at all). But honestly, i don't see what anyone likes about them. |

Atero: why exactly is Björk 'hahahaha'?
Maybe because of her musical style which is a mix of icelandic traditional folk and modern electronic beats, which makes her pretty unique? Maybe because of the artisticly and visually impressive video clips ('all is full of love', 'pagan poetry', 'hunter') that suit the music perfectly? Maybe because of her impressive singing voice, which has a large range and flexibility, not to mention a very unique tone? Maybe because of the Palme d'Or she won for her role in Dancer in the Dark? You may not like her music and other work, but you cannot deny that she's an artist, something Limp Bizkit and friends will never, ever be. |

yeah, that really sucked... sorry...
BTW, all the bands you listed are cool (although none will ever match with metallica) But i noticed that darude has a nice constant beat that even avs detects in no-time, just if you were looking for it... (tip: 'burning') |

Heh sorry to have started a flame war
, but I just get pissed off these days, hearing and seeing nothing but commercial crap. For example, the only time I like MTV Europe these days is at night, when they don't have to satisfy the demands of record companies who want their singles played every hour, and when good music is played instead of 'popular' crap (read: backed with lots of cash). |

You know you've been doing AVS too long when hear a piece of music and like it because of it's distinct pattern of beats. Like when you pass a construction site and think "that hammering would go real well with the SS i'm working on..."
Yay Metallica! They were my favourite group until about a year ago when i got more into Tool. But they still rock - even after they sold out. ![]() Btw, both Tool and Metallica are good for testing presets that you want to react to music with a climax. Everyone goes on about beats but I reckon the volume range is just as important. (E.g. my "Tribute To Handball" preset, where the bounce height depends on volume. I'd include a link to my pack but i don't want to be accused of plugging it too much.)

my personal opinion on testing presets is prodigy. Definately gives the preset some beat and the unusual sounds are perfect for testing...

my favorite for testing avs to is a tune by thx which i think is called the ultimate subwoofer test, i copied it off of PAK-9's (some guy who features a lot in my avs packs) pc and he has a habit of renaming and changing id3 tags to the weirdest things. is loads of bassy pulses and beats with a wide range of strong sounds and a very distinctive beats. i love it. other faves for avs are mainly rap and garage since they tend to have distinct constant beats and repetitive sounds so you can see what your avs does with certain things several times over to get a clear picture of it all
and yes limp bizkit suck imho with the exception of break stuff.edit: i also think that bjork is too much of an artist to make decent music, but thats just my opinion. |

*Tries to imagine Sarah Brightman and System of a Down working together.* I take it you're a bit of an eclectic, eh Montana?
And why haven't the americans here heard of bjork? Wasn't she pretty popular only a few years ago? It must be true what they say about your short attention spans. No offense. Actually, this is reply is 'cause i figured that if ssj2gohan can plug local bands, so can i. I should have mentioned Alchemist in my last post. They live almost next door (next suburb, anyway) and they've got some great metal stuff that uses electronic instruments extensively. Lots of whirling synth type stuff and unusual effects. Really forces avs to react to everything you can throw at it. They're big in the underground metal scene here but I doubt many people outside australia have heard of them. Your loss. |

I agree, montana. I wasn't knocking your tastes or anything. In fact, i listen to a pretty wide range of stuff, too. My currently favourite pieces of music would have to be divided between the categories of metal, aussie punk rock (e.g. powderfinger, living end, jebediah), celtic folk(steeleye span, anyone?), and 1940s popular french.
I'm so eclectic i border on the schizophrenic.

Actually Kylie Minogue's latest songs aren't too bad... they don't try to be anything they aren't (i.e. yappy, poppy dance songs). And some of the clips are cool (the one with the 3D vector graphics overlayed).
