Inspirational lyrics/ good quotes
Is there such thing anymore? I think so, but I'm having trouble.
My current fav is "as I was going up the stair, I met a man who wasn't there; He wasn't there again today! I wish, I wish He'd Stay away." --Hughes Mearnes Any others? (I remember at a time I used to find a lot of Green Day quotes useful. I wonder why.) |

I like this one from some pop rock, teenage angst, middle class, "jocks with punk rock hair doos", band (how ironic)
![]() "Her CD changer's full of singers who are mad at their dads" Also "You know what I think of alternative rock? Jocks with punk rock hair doos", by that guy from Tool. And for my funeral: "I don't need you no more in this world, I'll meet you on the next one, but don't be late." by Mr Hendrix. "We think science is interesting and if you disagree, you can fuck off." |

It's so easy to forget the old classics...
"most people don't realize that two large pieces of coral, painted brown, and attached to his skull with common wood screws can make a child look like a deer" ...really makes you think, doesn't it? "I'll start this off without any words I got so high that I scratched 'til I bled I love myself better than you I know it's wrong so what should I do?" As true today as when it was written...though certain new stuff has merit as well... "If we cry underwater, We can hide the suffering Then go rejoice in life's splendor, 'Cause death awaits like an old friend." "All I want is animals to be free. Run around and fuck right out in the street. Every day they're gonna wanna eat me. But I'll try not to take it personally." And so on... |

My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why I got out of bed at all
the morning rain clouds up my window and I can't see at all And even if I could it'd all be grey, but your picture on my wall it reminds me that it's not so bad it's not so bad I drank too much last night, got bills to pay my head just feels in pain I missed the bus and there'll be hell today I'm late for work again and even if I'm there, they'll all imply that I might not last the day and then you call me and it's not so bad it's not so bad and I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life Oh just to be with you is having the best day of my life Push the door, I'm home at last and I'm soaking through and through then you handed me a towel and all I see is you and even if my house falls down now, I wouldn't have a clue because you're near me and I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life Oh just to be with you is having the best day of my life

Past the point
of no return - no backward glances: the games we've played till now are at an end . . . Past all thought of "if" or "when" - no use resisting: abandon thought, and let the dream descend . . . What raging fire shall flood the soul? What rich desire unlocks its door? What sweet seduction lies before us . . .?

"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill today because they pissed me off. And also, help me to be careful of the toes I step on today as they may be connected to the ass that I may have to kiss tomorrow. Help me always to give 100% at work: 12% on Monday 23% on Tuesday 40% on Wednesday 20% on Thursday 5% on Friday And help me to remember.... When I'm having a really bad day, and it seems that people are trying to annoy me, that it takes 42 muscles to frown and only 4 to extend my middle finger and tell them to piss off." "From within the mirrors eyes,
I'm forced to run away and hide. I feel those mystic eyes subside And leave me blind. Through passages in time, A prisoner locked behind the door. Lonely roses slowly wither and die." It's not very Inspirational, it's actually sad... But, I like it. |

And I raise my head and stare
Into the eyes of a stranger I've always known that the mirror never lies People always turn away From the eyes of a stranger Afraid to know what Lies behind the stare Is this all that's left Of my life before me Straight jacket memories, sedative highs No happy ending like they've always promised There's got to be something left for me And I raise my head and stare Into the eyes of a stranger I've always known that the mirror never lies People always turn away From the eyes of a stranger Afraid to know what Lies behind the stare [Lies behind my stare] How many times must I live this tragedy How many more lies will they tell me All I want is the same as everyone Why am I here, and for how long And I raise my head and stare Into the eyes of a stranger I've always known that the mirror never lies People always turn away From the eyes of a stranger Afraid to know what Lies behind the stare Flypaper for the walking wounded since 1997

"this body, holding me, reminding me that i am not alone
this body, holding me, i feel eternal all this pain is an illusion" tool (parabola) "my girlfriend says, that i'm insane, my boyfriend says, i'd be better off dead, i'm gonna get drunk, come round and fuck you up! (x4) 'cause you, can't help, my mind" therapy? (can't remember... i think i screwed up the first line too) "whatever tomorrow brings, ill be there, with open arms and open eyes" incubus (drive) "listen to the fascist sound: 'take hope here, war is elsewhere, you were chosen, this is god's land... soon we'll be free, of blood and mixture, seized planet by our forefather's hands" rage against the machine (ashes in the fall) and all the lyrics to a song: "Me and you used to be like brothers On the nights we got drunk to each other You know me, I used to have some wit It ended up in a shit-filled sandpit We come from across the border We drink the six mile water This mongrel needs a new home This mongrel needs a new home That time when things got better We'd take trips across the wire Like the night we took the mad acid Swore we saw the city hall on fire We come from across the border We drink the six mile water This mongrel needs a new home This mongrel needs a new home (la-la-la-la) I'm sorry (la-la-la-la) I'm sorry (la-la-la-la) I'm sorry But I'm not ready for home Bukowski Day, I'm gonna miss it We'd get together each month for a day All the memories I have are Decked out in Presbyterian grey We came from across the border We drank the six mile water This mongrel needs a new home This mongrel needs a new home (la-la-la-la) I'm sorry (la-la-la-la) I'm sorry (la-la-la-la) I'm sorry But I'm not ready for home Now, me and you don't talk of one another It never really started out that way I always meant to write you a letter I always meant to call you some day We came from across the water We drank the six mile water This mongrel needs a new home This mongrel needs a new home (la-la-la-la) I'm sorry (la-la-la-la) I'm sorry (la-la-la-la) I'm sorry But I'm not ready for home I'm sorry I'm sorry" therapy? - six mile water except the last one these are all from memory, so might not be quite accurate. |

HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW (1807-1882)
A PSALM OF LIFE. WHAT THE HEART OF THE YOUNG MAN SAID TO THE PSALMIST. Tell me not, in mournful numbers, Life is but an empty dream! -- For the soul is dead that slumbers, And things are not what they seem. Life is real! Life is earnest! And the grave is not its goal; Dust thou art, to dust returnest, Was not spoken of the soul. Not enjoyment, and not sorrow, Is our destined end or way; But to act, that each to-morrow Find us farther than to-day. Art is long, and Time is fleeting, And our hearts, though stout and brave, Still, like muffled drums, are beating Funeral marches to the grave. In the world's broad field of battle, In the bivouac of Life, Be not like dumb, driven cattle! Be a hero in the strife! Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant! Let the dead Past bury its dead! Act, -- act in the living Present! Heart within, and God o'erhead! Lives of great men all remind us We can make our lives sublime, And, departing, leave behind us Footprints on the sands of time; Footprints, that perhaps another, Sailing o'er life's solemn main, A forlorn and shipwrecked brother, Seeing, shall take heart again. Let us, then, be up and doing, With a heart for any fate; Still achieving, still pursuing, Learn to labor and to wait.

Pearl jam "do the evolution"
it has a rather sinical view of mankind, wich I share. Member most in need of SpellCheck Lifetime Achievement Award I'm a Twitch Streamer these days, it's weird. |
