How healthy are you?
I'm a pretty healthy person, not in what I eat or my cleanliness habits, but I very rarely get ill. Last time I was anywhere near ill was about a year ago when I had a sore throat for about 2 weeks. I don't often wash my hands before eating or preparing food for myself, or even going to the loo sometimes. I eat food I drop on the floor and get crap out from behind my fingernails with my teeth. Not a pretty picture you might say, but then I don't ever get ill.
I had tonsilitus about 4 years ago which is the last time I can remember being ill. I missed 1.5 days of school in 13 years through illness. Are you a healthy person and what are you cleanliness standards / habits? Will we see a link? |

I think I am pretty healthy overall. I've broken a lot of bones in the past due to recklessness, different sports, accidents, but they have all healed perfectly. I never get sick, and I'm not very big on this "bleach hands after *everything*" approach. My view is that dirt was around a lot longer than soap, and we lived this long. The doesn't mean I'm filthy, but I believe that if you live in a germ-free world, then your immune system begins to deteriorate because it has nothing to fight against, and when you do need it, it may not be able to ward off whatever infection that you may have.

i am also pretty healthy. I rarely get sick. Although i am slightly over weight, which really doesnt bother me because all my skinny friend have a lot a health problems. One of them has seisures, one of them has diabetes, and another is aneemic (wow so many words i dont know how to spell). So yeah i guess i am pretty healthy. I also rarely wash my hands before i eat and stuff. The last time i missed alot of school was when i was out for the first week because i had poison ivy all over my body. I am extremely allergic to it, and had to take steriods to get over it. odd huh?
Computers may be twice as fast as they were in 1973 but your average person is as drunk and stupid as ever. The only one who's changed is Dro! He's become bitter, and let's face it, crazy over the years. He'll sell our children's organs to zoos for meat. And he'll go into people's houses at night and wreck up the place! Muhuhahahaha! |

I'm not a clean freak in the obsessive-compulsive/germphobic sense of it, but I do try to keep clean. I have hand sanitizer at my desk at work because of all the things I touch (Jackpot slips, cage paperwork, security papers, etc.) I don't know who touched it last, nor what they have in terms of germs. I use it 2 or 3 times a day.
I used it ALOT more when I was handling money at the Gas Station. It kept me from getting sick. Flypaper for the walking wounded since 1997

I get colds pretty easily (just getting over one now, in fact). I wash my hands several times a day, and overall I'm pretty clean.
I don't touch those instant antibacterial things, I've heard they make it worse because they break down your natural defense against germs and stuff. |

colds are all the rage here (what, being part of a large student community coupled with the fact that it's cold more often than not here doesn't help) - but i have a fairly strong immune system, and i'm not usually down for too long. as for being healthy, i used to sprint/marathon canoe (i was in the scotland squad!), but a back condition i have meant that i was in quite bad pain every time i tried to sit up, and you have to sit up to go fast, so eventually i quit doing that. the healithiest i get is that i had to walk 3-4 miles to the centre of edinburgh every day for the last 2 months or so. now i live in the centre of edinburgh, but my lectures are a couple miles from me, so i'm buying a bike, and that'll help me get about, and hopefully encourage me to get some excercise.

I must be pretty healthy, because I almost never get sick (although I think I am currently getting a cold). But healty in a phisical sence, no. I never exercise, and I don't really eat very healthy.

well, i just found out a year or two ago that all those times as a kid that i thought i had a cold... 95% of those times were just allergies. i have a strong immune system, and i heal just about as fast as wolverine (in fact, when i got my wisdom teeth pulled, my gums healed TOO fast for the bone to regrow right, and the doctor had to go in and reopen everything. boo.
now if only i still had that superfast metabolism i had back when i was a young teenager, and i'd be set. |

I'm quite healthy if I'm not trying to do some stick stuff. *cough*
But really, I am healthy. I only have a few allergies, one of which include breaking out when eating dairy foods. Including 2 not-so-serious allerigies, but that's all. The only reason why I get ill is for working at a skateshop - I get exposed to the kids that come in who have also been exposed from the other kids at school. I once had the stomach flu on last year's Christmas because of this. Sucked ass... A very close Japanese friend I knew a while ago once said to me "Watashi no koto wo oboeta, onegai shimasu...Yakusoku?" I forgot his name though... |

I consider myself to be rather healty. I'm slightly overweight, I weigh 190 and I should weigh 175-180, It dosen't slow me down. I rarly get sick, and I have not had a bruise last more than 24 hours for years, in fact, most of the time, I don't bruise when most people do. like when I fell off a chair I was standing on, and landed on the back of another chair, no bruise, just a slight red mark that went away within 2 hours. and the other person who saw couldn't figure out why I haden't broken a rib.

I consider myself pretty healthy. Now that I am on a campus environment though, I am weary of the people around me. I eat very well, I have gotten into excorsizing daily and I take at least two showers a day. I wash my hands pretty damn often, even after I pick my nose. What I don't understand is why most people seem so scared of catching everything. It's not like we are going to die from getting a cold (Unless we have aids). There are some guys in my dorm that don't keep themselves very clean, they smell pretty bad most of the time. But they seem to be pretty healthy too. I guess it depends on where the person comes from or how sensitive their system is to viral infections.
