Using multiple occurances to DJ live.
I was just wondering if anyone else out there was using winamp to perform live. I used to use music match, but switched to a single winamp window because of the fading. Then I added a eternal Exctigy sound device and was running winamp on the internal card and musicmatch on the exctigy and using a regular outboard DJ mixer (pioneer) - worked cool, then I noticed the setting in winamp to allow multiple copies to run at the same time. I was going to use that this week but was wondering if anyone else had any feedback/thoughts on the stablity of this way? being able to setup multiple playlists makes grabbing a song on the quick great. sometimes you are so busy bullsh**ing and all of a sudden you have 30 seconds left. I tried BPM studios and I love the features but it crashed on me twice during a show - bad bummer - REALLY kills the vibe!
The one thing that would be great is more control on the start point when you hit play - sorta slugish responce - I wonder if there is anything I can to to help this? Thanks, MoJo |

Multiple instances work well. Just make sure to specify which soundcard to output to in the Output plugin preferences panel.
Are you using Winamp3? I'd sacrifice the builtin multiple playlist functionality of Winamp3 for the speed and stability of Winamp 2.xx, especially in a live environment. |

I was thinking the same thing
...however the search capablities of 3 make it worth the chance (for me)_.. Speed has not been as issue so far.
Thanks. |
