Graphix Tips and Tricks.
I'm brand spankin new to this skinnin business. and from what i've seen, there are a LOT of great graphic people out there.
so i'm gonna appeal for help. i am currently using macromedia fireworks, and have been having ok success with a skin i'm working on. but it lacks that professional edge i've seen here. i have adobe photoshop, but have no experience with it, and the tutorial they have is a giant pain in the arse to read through. if anybody knows of a beginners guide to ps or something along those lines. i'd be very grateful. and i'm also wondering what kind of tricks you use to getting that "real" look to your skins. thanks, Paul |

Hey allhailskippy,
It's great that your keen on learning graphics! Theres a lot of great stuff to get your hands dirty with ![]() Theres so much talent out there you can pretty much start anywhere.. Open up google, and search for photoshop tutorials. But, maybe I can direct you in the right direction.. Designs By Mark (www.designsbymark.com) is a really great site for beginning with Photoshop. The tutorials are based on beginners, with fluent information.. unfortunately - they are only for purchase.. What mark did, was take all his tutorials he had on his website, and stuck it on a CD for sale.. Although you have to spend $, it is such a good investment. I recommend these (in this specific order): http://store.yahoo.com/designsbymark/marphot55fxc.html http://store.yahoo.com/designsbymark/pswebpower.html http://store.yahoo.com/designsbymark/marphot7mask.html Now, there is other ways to learn photoshop.. heres a few links that might help you out. - http://www.eyesondesign.net - http://www.designsbymark.com/ - http://www.phong.com/ - http://www.eyewire.com/tips/photoshop/ - http://www.wastedyouth.org/tutorials.php - http://www.teamphotoshop.com/photosh...als/ps_tut.php - http://www.computerarts.co.uk/tutorials/2d/ Best of luck! remember, practice makes perfect. EDIT: Rebouk's site is pretty hot: http://robouk.mchost.com/ Last edited by QaBOjk; 15th October 2002 at 19:32. |
