Awesome man, I'm expecting early 2003 you're going to have input for winamp that lets me do hand motions in front of a camera to make winamp work? (Sort of like http://optimoz.mozdev.org/gestures/index.html I suppose) Anyway, that's good stuff, pretty small too, not that it takes more than a second to download anyway...

Cool, it seems to work pretty well. Add authentication (I'm sure you will), and if we could have multiple users levels, that'd be cool too!

[15:42:18] <JBDude> once you download it rename all the .* template files to .* html and it'll open in IE
[15:42:40] <JBDude> that's all I can think of do make it work ..unless I'm doing it all wrong ..and that's always a possibility

no no no NO!! do NOT rename the template files.

if you try to load somethin like index.html and there is a index.html.template, itll auto-generate a new index.html with things such as playlist items.

if you take a look at the templates, u will notice things such as:
%p
these will be filled in by the server with data from Winamp. here is the current list: (note: they must be lower case, because uper-case is going to be something else later)

%p = playlist
%l = playlist list
%t = status
%n = playlist name
%s = search

search currently doesnt work yet.

to modify the way the page looks, simply modify the .html.template file. you can also create your own .html.template files with any filename you wish.

when the server atempts to load a HTML file, itll first look for "file.html.template", so if you want somethin like "stuff.html" to be auto-generated, simply make a "stuff.html.template" and inside the template, you can place the various %X things there (listed above)

i will write up a full doc on how to create templates a little bit later.

Wasabi Webserver

I tried adding the webserver as active desktop content ON my desktop using http://localhost:8080 ..it worked but when I clicked a song to play the Song Playing info wasn't updating right and IE popped up another webserver window..

Is this a bug to be fixed or something to do with how XP Home handles active desktop content ??

My Comp:
1.4 Ghz Celeron
256meg DDR SDRAM
XP Home

Hope this is what you need to figure this out

just as soon as the linux version is finalized and released... there WILL be the wasabi OS. a bunch of us are just waiting on stand-by to make such a thing a reality.

i sure hope someone is still working on that toaster component.. i wanna have a serial port toaster that winamp controlls!!

or how about this? washers and driers are starting to include NICs in them, and they include DHCP support, so u could monitor them from a PC. how about a component that could CONTROL them from within Winamp ??? hahaha, best ever, no?

<smartass>Yes, that's apache, thanks.</smartass> This is a web server run on wasabi from winamp3 itself, designed as a remote access, and in 20k or so, I'm confused as to why you're posting a full scale httpd.

you mean like porting a SNES emulator over to Wasabi, and having a playlist of ROMs, and then they show up in the video window? this would be totally awesom...

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here, I downloaded it and installed the package and when Winamp started did Zonealarm ask if I wanted t give it server permissions which I did but localhost:8080 just doesnt work. Any ideas what might be wrong? I'm using win98 SE.

actually... the clases used for the network access are the exact same classes used for NetSlave, so in theory, i am programming and debuging both at the same time.

and btw: i have been workin on RM-X 0.8... im just not releasing alphas every day like i was before. random update: DX-JOY is actually almost complete, and NetSlave is almost complete, and the release should be soon. really soon. (maybe a week or so away)

im working on a couple of extra themes to include with the default install, and desent support for switching themes.

if you wanna make your own themes, for now just edit the existing .html.template files, and put anything you want in them. i will be adding a LOT more support for auto-generated scripts in the near future.

heres an idea: have a mode to allow people to queue tracks only. Then combine with shoutcast, and you have an all request station!

damn you peoples... quit telling me the ideas i am already working on!! hehee, j/k.

as for queing... DOWNLOADING, and umm... yea, other things too. i am working on it. such as its own lil search engine thingy (as you all have prob seen the link for in the server).

so far, the search engine is already working, and as for other custum % tags, i am working on making them multi-character, to make em more comprehendable, and more extensable. plus more forms of .template files... more than jsut .html.template

Well, I seem to have a little problem. The playlist and so is working fine but the buttons don't show up, or rather the png's. I can click on the placeholders and it's work but there seem to be some sort of error with the path to the pictures. Any idea why this don't work?
