sharing m3u lists
can you share m3u lists with your friends if you have the same music on each of your PCs? i have all my music stored in D:\music and my m3u lists stored in D:\music\m3u lists. but when i sent a .m3u to my friend who has all of the same music (i burned and copied the mp3s to his machine myself to C:\music) when he double clicked the m3u list i sent him, it loaded the list but then just ran down the list without playing anything...
question. why??? can't you share m3u lists??? thanks for the response. i'm a real newbie here so i hope i can find the post i create and the answers you guys might send. or you can just send the answer to chrowland@aristotle.net (let's say between now and the end of october 2002? if i don't have an answer by then, please don't continue to send me answers as i may already have 10,000 of them already) thanks gigs... |

m3u's tell where the song is located.
If the songs arent located in the same place, the playlist wont work. He can edit the playlist in notepad or textpad and make it so that the path leads to HIS mp3's, then the playlist will work. |

Also, the structure of the directories the mp3's are in.
if your D:\music\ directory has sub-directories such as \music\Green Day\song.mp3 Then the directory on your friends PC must be the same: C:\music\Green Day\song.mp3 Also, when burning data to a CD, if the file has more than 64 (i think) characters, they will be cut short. And if that happend, then the m3u isnt going to find the right song, because the m3u has it listed as the full filename. |
