Where is the winamp3 base skin?? I want to make one

Winamp3's base skin, or in other words - the default skin, is default.wal, the skin you saw when you first loaded Winamp3.

The skin is located at ..\Winamp3\Skins\

Thats where winamp automatically puts all mine. On win 98 anyway, I think it varys from windows versions.

Hrm, no... All skins are put in your Winamp3 Skins folder. When loading a skin, Winamp3 extracts the skins file to a temp. folder - the one you specified.

remember WAL=ZIP so your friendly neighborhood zipping utility can open them. Winamp (2 and 3) can and will load skins from a folder, so while developing you can just leave it in folder form, no zipping is required.

Then with emeditor you will need the Maki syntax.

I guess you don't need both, but these are my preferences!

when i was working with maki i used good ol Notepad. When I'm doing php: EditPad (a beefed up notepad).

Gotta love text-editors!

bnouwop, Thats if you were talking about writing the code. If your talking about the graphics, I know most people around here (With good graphics) use Photoshop (expensive), Under that I guess (and free) is Paintshop Pro. ect. ect.

Textpad (www.textpad.com) is another brilliant text editor. Syntax file for maki attached in next post.
