Turn your Nintendo GameBoy into an MP3 player?

I just read about this plug-in coming out that allows you to play MP3's on a GameBoy Advance. The product is called SongPro and it looks to be coming out this month. The amazing thing is that you can add up to 512 MB's. Pretty cool for a little handheld video game system. All the details are at www.songpro.com.

If it doesn't work with a Gameboy Pocket, I'm not interested. And no Ogg? Pfft!

fudge gameboy pocket. go get yourself a gameboy advanced. they are awsome. it's like a super nintendo in your palm.

they have gone way down in price.

and ogg. would be nice, but mp3's are beyond good enough for normal music thanks to the alt-preset standards.

As I thought about it, AAC support does not really interest me much. But I still want this but I'd rather have the watch!

This is from the Songpro website, "plug-in module that turns Nintendo® Game Boy® Color® and Nintendo® Game® Boy® Advance® into secure WMA/MP3 music and multimedia players with the unique ability to display scrolling visuals and text". So I guess you should start caring about it!

Songpro has been "coming soon" for the longest time, I think I remember reading about this a year or so ago, be interesting to see what it's like when it arrives, one less device to carry around I guess, mind you what happens when you wanna play super mario while grooving to a bit of rob zombie?

Use a gameboy advanced to CONTROLL winamp

This would have SERIOUS benifits for mp3 car people. I would like to control the computer (in trunk) with a GBA up front using the display for navigation and visualations. I know people are hacking the crap out of em to make new gams and shyt but anyone ever hear of someone doing something like this?

You all need to get a GameCube too, since it hooks up to the GBA. You can d'load games to each other & other stuff. If the MP3 playing can go through the GBA into the Cube with visualizations that would be awesome! I'm already so hyped up about Metroid Prime coming out 11/22 and now this...I'm almost speechless.

GBA to control winamp

Actualy you dont need a GameCube but a pc.
They have cables to the pc and I'm sure that this can be done but you need someone to write the interface on the GBA and a plugin for winamp. That would be too kick ass. Anyone out there know where to start looking?
