Beginning of bloatware?
I've been using Winamp since v1 - in fact I *purchased* a registration code for it (allbeit a measly UKP 10 about four years ago!).
Like many others I shall be returning to WA2 until WA3 is more 'sorted'. My main concerns are: 1. It's buggy (not unexpected considering its still beta). I've had a number of assertion failures out of it. Next time I'll note/report them. 2. It looks vaguely like it might be heading towards bloatware with the video player et al. Yes, I know they don't have to be installed, but I'd prefer not to even download them. 3. The user interface seems to have suffered. To be fair, I haven't studied in depth the documentation so I shan't rant. The 'thinger' is a case in point. More bloatware means someone had to 'hatch' the thinger in order to be able to access all the bloatware. 4. I love the idea of the Media Library and the playlists management but the way they work isn't easily configured and seems to be non-intuitive. I shall miss these in WA2! OK, so back to WA2 and I shall see where WA3 gets to in the next few months. I've (fairly) confident that the programmers have their collective head screwed on properly and will fix most of the concerns I and others have. Good luck! Paul |

well to counter the bloatware there would be lite versions....
the thinger is there to customise winamp3...just like plugins. But it is much easier to access all this rather than going through a menu. |

They added too many things that makes it kind of slow to load up. It's not like Windows Media player where it loads the UI first, then proceeds to load other dll as needed. It takes up more ram than the previous version.
