Converter Version 1.0

i started playing with Visual C++ and needed something to write a program for. I needed something simple so i decided to see if i could improve Evil Pumkins Gamma Generator. Converter converts from rgb to gamma and back, also has button to copy straight to clipboard. Any bugs, problems or suggestions just post in this thread. Enjoy.

Hey, man, great work! I tried it and... love it! It is unbelieveably useful, makes the creation of a theme much faster. You deserve from me. The only bug I found is that when you use the TAB it doesn't move along the columns, but it jumps from one to another. Maybe try to fix this, add some ABOUT section and you'll make it even better. Congrats !

thank you everyone. i fixed the tab thing, it was easy. Mr. Jones made a request for an Always on Top function. anybody else like the idea? Second question should it always be on top or only when you click check box?

Blah!

Thumbs up Always On Top

Good idea.
And I'd prefer a check box.

I like the idea of always on top. I'd put the checkbox there, so the people could set it to the place they'd want it. Also try to fix this: when you fill the fields of the RGB and forget to click on the RGB button (so U have the GAMMA active), this will automatically change you the RGB values you wrote a while ago, so I'd like sth like a autoswitching RGB-GAMMA button there which would make the field in which you are working active.
Also if you fill the RGB fields and there's an empty gammafield (there is not a zero but totally anything) and press the convert button, it will call you an alert window. Ex: RGB: 122 154 168 GAMMA: nothing 3220 -458 will alert you. It would be better not to do this and convert the values even if there's anything in one of the fields. Good luck!

i'll work on the auto switching button.

about the other thing, it is supposed to call your attention to any number that is not a valid RGB value or Gamma value, example R = 256. but i'll see if i can tweak it.

Blah!

It's nice from it to call my attention, but it can be annoying to see an alert whenever you unwillingly erase one of the gamma values .

Converter Version 1.3

New release.
Now has Always on Top check box, Tab order fixed, automatically switches to RGB or Gamma when you begin entering data.

Question - is the tab order right?
Find any bugs let me know. Enjoy.

Well, why does the whole program close by hitting Enter? I would use Enter to convert the values... You would just hit Enter instead of clicking on the Convert button.

New ideas :D !

So I took a closer look at it and here are my ideas:
1. When I have a situation as in the screenshot (I colored
the Red, Green and Blue with particular colors, like it?) and try
to convert values it alerts me even though it is not necessary because I wanna
convert RGB to Gamma. So I'd like it to convert the values without
alert. Is it possible?
2. As you know, gamma values have up to 4 digits plus the minus sign and
a comma after them in the xml (1st and 2nd value). So I was thinking about
the possibility that you'd copy all three values from xml (eg.-325,2564,-214)
and paste'em into the first Gamma field (topmost right), the Converter
would put the first value into the first field, look for the following
comma and put the second value (behind the comma) into second field
and simoultaneously erase the comma that has just been put into the value-field
with the value (or make it to accept the values with a comma?) and
so on. Do you know what I mean? Is it real?
3. Maybe put a checkbox to make the Converter to sit in the topleft/right
corner of the screen? Good luck!

pretty good ideas, i don't know about the auto thing i'll have to look into it, the alert mesages are not so easy either, the check box for the screen corner should be easy as well. the real problem is i don't have the time to work on this right now. i have the skin i'm working, plus i have to work until almost christmas, plus a lot of things are happening around christmas. so it will probably be after christmas before i get a chance to work on this.
