anyone any idea on if/when we will be able to get hold of this for our own sites/videos? and if/when its available, how to set it up and use it?

1) It's not public and may not actually be made public.

2) Just point it to a NSV file/stream in the HTML.

They can't make money off it if they don't sell it is what i mean.

(1/3 the size of mpg...i could almost stream that)

I'll bring it up in the Chat room next time they are there.

You can currently stream NSV using NSV Tools and the latest SHOUTcast server. Just requires Winamp3 to play.

(Of course it takes a LOT of CPU power)

It's coming. We're still working on it and on the Mozilla/Netscape plugin.

But for now, you can check our progress on the Winamp.com ActiveX test page (go to Videos->ActiveX Test), we're updating the control there regularly. The latest version there has OSD full screen controls and a leet right-click popup menu..

i've been checking that page regularly, but hadn't noticed the changes.. The OSD works great! now just make it skinable

i am sooo looking forward to the next release of winamp3, to see all the neat stuff you guys have come up with.

something along the lines of "winamp2 plugin for IE"
