Need to send an MP3 stream to A/V Receiver, not PCM

I recently purchased a Harman Kardon 520 A/V Reciever which has the capability to decode MP3's using either it's coaxial or optical digital inputs. I have an Audigy 2 sound card, with a coaxial cable connected to the Receiver, and the Receiver is receiving a PCM digital data stream.

What I want, is for the Receiver to get an MP3 data stream, not a PCM data stream.

Creative Labs says the mp3 decoding to PCM is a function of the OS.

How can I accomplish this?
