background DSP with no frontend
hi!
I'm just starting to use Shoutcast, to listen my MP3s from work ![]() It is working perfectly with Winamp and the DSP plugin as a shoutcaster, but while I'm working, my bother uses the same PC, and he sometimes uses Winamp. I wanted to know is there is a way you can start Shoutcast DNAS and DSP in background mode (it would be great if they could work as a Windows service), without altering Winamp configuration, serving a predefined playlist, so people can use Winamp in the same PC at the same time. Maybe there's some software for that, but I haven't found anyone that works in Windows XP. Any help? Thanks in advance

only thing you could do is use the feature that hides winamp to your taskbar, also activate the multiple winamp instances thing. then when your brother goes to open winamp, it will open another. only problem is when he opens it will have the same config as the streaming one and he has to change it. maybe install 2 winamps and have the streaming one install without shortcuts. some ideas there.

what I did was installed another instance of Winamp somewhere else on the drive and made sure not to associate file types to it.
