Windows ME(I know, its bad) and shoutcast problems

If I'm on the air, and talking with the input set to sound card, everything works find and dandy, no problems. When I go to play music, and switch over to winamp input, the connection stops streaming data. Picks right back up if I switch back to soundcard it picks right back up. Now, it sometimes works in winamp mode, but more often then not it doesn't. I'm running a p3 800mhz, 512k ram, broad band, and what ever type of sound card sony put in this machine. I've also tried reinstalling it to.

Anyone got any suggestions?
