turn that thing off!
Who is your least favorite mainstream singer/band of all time?
Mine is Hanson. Worst of all boy bands. |

I agree with you on all except for linkin park. They have made several good songs(except for crawling and one step closer, I like the rest) and I really like It's Going Down by the X-ecutioners(which features Linkin Park, Static-X, and some others).

Main reason I don't like Linkin Park is the way that I think only two of them even knew eachother. They were plastered together the same way N'Sync was. Just by someone else.
I think they're just the boyband for the alternative listeners. ![]() Procrastinators of the world unite!... Tomorrow! |

That would be It's Your Birthday by 50 Cent....yah It sucks! "Go, Go, Go, go shorty its your birfday..." yah its gay :P lol. One band full of white kids lead by a girl who think they are Jamacian that I really hate is No Doubt. They suck! Tragic Kingdom wasn't that bad but the next two sucked! The actual band is good but Gwen just blows *the drummer *.
I came for the hatred. I stayed for the ballbag. |

Yeah, about no doubt. Tragic Kingdom was decent. Probably their best song, too.
I never liked Ska much anyways. Much less Ska that soon turns into hip-hop affiliated junk. ![]() Procrastinators of the world unite!... Tomorrow! |

i hate almost all music targeted towards audiences like my sister. michelle branch, avril lavigne, n sync, backstreet boys, etc.
50 cent is horrible, by the way. most of new rap is totally horrible, actually. most new anything is horrible. especially popularized music, stuff that is programmed to be cool. i'm on the fence about linkin park, they are allright at best some songs are okay, but some make want to throw up and burn myself. creed is pretty bad, staind has 1 good song and the rest are vomit inducing. also, i cannot stand system of a down. all thier songs set my teeth on edge and make my ears hurt. |

Now Linkin Park I can see where you are comming from. All Corporate don't write their own songs and re-release the same songs just changed a little bit calling it a "new album". But their next album is suppose to have songs actually written by the band. . . we will see how it does. |

i dont like slipknot, they started off the right way and said they'd never sell out... then what happened........
commercialized pop of all kinds disgusts me, there is the odd song thats alright and i dont mind listening to. Ive got a broad musical taste but this "music" that some people listen to is just crap, like the same computerized drum beat over and over again while some guy starts to sound retarded shouting things, i dont get it. most other things i dont mind listening to, i dont particularly like it but its listenable. My favroute type of music has to be anything with fast guitar solos, etc etc but i HATE avril lavigne... oh god avril lavigne must have her moth sewn up, for the love of god please.

oh god... AMEN
the spice girls were awful, they started out 5 of them in a girl band, then they were going solo, they were hosting chat shows, they were on the cat walk. They turned into musics version of a nail bomb, they started as one little package and then they shot off into all different directions, causing pain and horror all over the show!!! simply awful.

Has anyone here ever heard of Wesley Willis? I would reccommend getting some of his music like "Rock and Roll McDonalds". His music will make you think that you can make money by singing - no matter how bad you are.

Turn these off!!: Any rap. Any new stuff. The new "alternative" or "hard rock" has no talent or feel to it. Mixing rap with hard rock doesn't work.
I'm a metal fan thru and thru, but I like all kinds of music (rock, pop, rap/breakdance from the early 80's, metal, country). The stuff they have nowadays just bites. Generic guitar strumming and no creativity. We have the music labels to thank for that. I can't hardly stand any new music nowadays. Talentless drivel. I saw Eminem is getting nominated for an Academy Award. You know the music scene has hit an all time low when Eminem is nominated for any award. Music labels only care about money and kids are where the money is. Any real talent takes a back door to kid appeal. Music has suffered for it too. |

The thing about Eminem, though, is that he knows this(or at least he sings about it). I like "Without Me" too. The rest of his music, and most of rap, sucks. I do like old rap(esp. Vanilla Ice
).

Vanilla Ice is as bad as Eminem is. lol That's the bottom of the barrel. The real stuff was done by the people that started it all. Furious Five/Grandmaster Flash, Run DMC, Fat Boys, Ice T (before he turned hardcore)... those were real rap groups. Back then it was magical and new. The stuff nowadays just blows. I can't stand the egofest that rap has become. If it isn't that it's promoting a negative lifestyle or constant profanity. You don't have to have talent to be in rap anymore... just have a unique look (like a dumbass bandaid on your face) and you can be a millionaire. What a joke.
I feel the same way about the so-called hard rock or metal groups nowadays. Most are bland and talentless or rap out their lyrics instead of singing. I don't mind the Green Day, Offspring or Sum41 kinda sound, but Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit and other groups like that need to go. One of my favorites nowadays is Type-O: October Rust. A great album. Iced Earth: Alive in Athens is another album I've been listening to. |

I'll agree with you about the rap, although I do like "Ice, Ice, Baby". It was definitely original(well besides the fact that he stole the baseline
).I like most hard rock(but neither kid rock nor limp bizkit), though. I do not like any "pop" music or country. |

Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby... oh jeez, don't get me started on this song. I used to hate it with a passion when it was popular. A friend of mine was into big stereo systems back then. He loved building them and knew what he was doing (still does). In his spare time he'd draw up speaker boxes for every car he could think of and daydream about system possibilities. Anyway, back to Vanilla Ice... he used to play that song all of the time. The whole Vanilla Ice thing as a perfect example of music labels going for the dough over talent. This guy sucks even at what he's trying to do now, a metal band of some kind. The only thing good about that song was the bass if you had a good system. I hate rap with a passion now. I can't stand the homees and bitches mentality. Or the every-other-word-is-a-muddafukka rap. The beats have gotten ever more complex, but the rap is still the same old stuff. I still hold by my claim that anyone can be a rap star, in a boy band or so-called hard rock band if they have the money/music labels behind them. That doesn't mean it's quality stuff. The music business has suffered for it and it's to the point now where you can't hardly find anything good to listen to anymore. It's no wonder people trade music online so much. The music isn't worth the money you have to pay for it. Older stuff, yes--newer stuff, no. And a lot of the older stuff you can't find on CD anymore because they are out of print. Oh, and one other thing... I absolutely HATE R&B so-called singing. They all sound the same warbling their voices up and down on the octaves to make up for not being able to sing worth a damn. If you think about it you know what I'm talking about. It's a disguise for not having any singing talent. Singing in tune isn't a talent--most people can with training, but having a good voice is a talent.
I could go on and on, but I digress. I'm perfectly happy with the 70's and 80's rock/pop stuff and I love 80's hard rock and metal---all good. Some of the new country is great... since country made a comeback in the early 90's (Randy Travis helped that cause), it's better than ever. Dixie Chicks have to be some of the best talent I've seen in quite a long time. I listen to anything that tugs at the heart strings or makes me feel good. The vast majority of the new music from the late 90's to now just don't cut it. Drivel! hehe |
