Line-in stream and shoutcast all from console
Good afternoon.
This probably is a relatively n00bish question, but here goes. I have a linux box (haven't installed it yet, but it will be either Red Hat 6.2, 7.2, or 8.0) that I would like to use with for a live audio server. What I want to do is hook up a scanner to line-in on the sound card and use it to stream scanner audio, but I want to do it all from the console. I have done this with ease at home by using the Winamp DSP on a Win98 box and sending it over to a linux box running the Shoutcast DNAS... that is very straightforward. However, in this case, I don't want to mess with a GUI and whatnot, I just want to be able to remotely login via SSH/telnet and activate the program listening for audio on line-in and also the DNAS. What program is available to do this console line-in task?? Thanks. Andrew |
