Sony G420 or Philips 109P?

Im getting a new monitor on saturday, and i've narrowed my choices down to these two. Both seem pretty even in terms of specs. Theyre both apperture grill tubes, both do 1600x1200@85, the sony can do 1920x1440@72hz, the philips can go up to 2048x1536@60. The philips has a shorter picture tube, which would be handy as my desk isnt as deep as i'd like it to be, the sony offers features like a pair of tinny built in speakers and a usb hub, but its quite a bit bulkier.

Price wise theyre fairly similar, the philips is $729, the sony $835.

Does anyone own either of these and can give a reccomendation? Im just wondering if its worth paying $100 extra for a pair of speakers i wouldnt use, a usb hub that i probably would use, a bit more bulk and a sony badge?

The only other consideration was perhaps getting a 17" lcd, but i dont think i could put up with the slow pixel response time, plus 1280x1024 doesnt offer any more desktop space than my current monitor (the reason i want a new one).

PCWorlds top ten list of 19 inch CRT monitors.

My suggestion... the Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930SB or the Samsung SyncMaster 957mb

Thats their top 10?

Most of them can only do 1600x1200@70hz, which is too low for continuous use. The mitsubishi 930SB sounds ok, but after converting to Aus $ its more expensive than the sony g420.
