How Do I Convert Wav to MP3? (Newbie: Pls Help)

Just bought my wife the Creative Nomad MuVo with 128mgs of memory.

It did not come with any software and I have no idea how to take a CD and convert the files to MP3.

Someone directed me here and I downloaded Winamp2, but now I'm lost.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you advance.

No, of course not. We only use Kazaa to download WiMP formatted songs by Noise Therapy and other bands.

Better yet: Kazaa Lite

Just so you know, my previous avatar was NOT a swastika, nor did it have much similarity to one. Just thought I'd clear that up since I cannot use my own original art work.

I have CDex Version 1.5 beta 10 up on my screen. The Audiotrack titles are shown. I do not see an option to convert these tracks to MP3. I see options to convert them to compressed audio files.

Please walk me through this guys. All I want to convert the Audio Tracks on my CD to MP3 files on my PC so I can drag and drop em to the MP3 player connected via usb port.

Thanks,

ChinaCat

WhooooooooooT

This program rocks and so do you all. Awesome

Odd tho that an MP3 player doesn't come with software like this in the first place.

Oh, one thing.. How do I name either the cut or the album?

I see in Filenames tab of config there is a window up top that says "Filename Formt" and another on the bottom that says the same under Playlist. In which area do I name the tune or the album? I'm just confused if the %1%2/playlist is calling a code and if I write over it if that will mess something up.

Thanks you

The MP3 newbie,

ChinaCat
