What kind of music do you like

well I'm sure this has been done many times but, I still wanna know what do you groove to...

I love prog rock like Opeth there a band from sweden and they can do it all from crazy heavy metal to jazzy folk rock. They write about things like love, pain, nature, and are just an amazine set of muscians with some real talent. There music has a little something for eveybody and I challange all of you to give them a try but because of there musical diversity you will probably not like all the stuff so if anyone is intrested in give Opeth a shot I will post some song names for you guys to download depending on what your style is.

My other favs are:

Tool
Mogwai
Nick Drake
System of a Down
Lifer
Pink Floyd
Dead Can Dance
Download
My Dying Bride
Nirvana
and many more...

Punk Rock
Heavy Metal
Alt. Rock
Techno (Sometimes as background auto racing music, up-beat heavy metal will still be better... )
Rap (Mainly Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Jurassic 5...Hate mostly everything else)

A very close Japanese friend I knew a while ago once said to me "Watashi no koto wo oboeta, onegai shimasu...Yakusoku?"

I forgot his name though...

Metal, almost exclusively.
And Opeth are huge, their newest double album has all the reviewers creaming themselvs. I don't personally get it but whatever. Had a chance to see them actually, not my cup of tea though.

Edit: Are they up for a grammy? (Swedish)

KingoftheRotten I already do. thank you tho there all good bands

Outlawjim I would say sting is mainly rock or classic rock but he takes infuences from almost everything

now for a round of Opeth tracks:

Heavy Metal Opeth: A Fair Judgement, Face of Melinda
Really Heavy Opeth: The Drapery Falls, Deliverance
Insainly Heavy Opeth: Karma, Wreath
Folky Opeth: Harvest, Creedance
Ambent Opeth: Still day beneath the sun, Patterns in the Ivy
If you guy listen to any of these let me know what ya think I am courious, and all ways like to convert new people in to the Opeth fold. and if you didn't like em thank you for trying something new and i'm sorry for wasting your time.

Argh. Lots of Opeth worship I find. overrated (in the metal scene at least). I like Demon of the Fall a lot, but then again I like aggressive metal, with some exceptions (the odd Rhapsody song, Symphony X, Nightwish).
BTW: Heard Mikael åkerfeldt's new band Bloodbath? Now that is METAL!

Yes bloodbath is great and you are entitled to your opinians about Opeth worship. I would consider myself one of the biggest fans but I worship no band and aggressive metal is good but I'm more into Progressive I like how Opeth can seamlesly switch from acousitc to electric and Build up a mood throught out a song and Mikael's Lyrics are some of the best ever written and the concept of the album My Arms, Your Hearse telling one story with 9 songs was great anyways I'm not trying to say your wrong but, I do love this band and I think all there prase is dead on.

Real metal.

Megadeth, Pantera, Nightwish, Stratovarius, Ozzy, AC/DC, The Gathering, Nevermore, In Flames, Dream Theater, Fear Factory, Iced Earth, Lacuna Coil, Sepultura, Tristania, Type O Negative, White Zombie, etc.

Plus a lot of rock, especially 80's rock and some 90's. Not big on numetal at all, and hate pop.

Classical, too.

Got to see them in concert at my college a couple years ago - it was a blast! They're such a fun band.

Istanbul wasn't done by them originally, I don't think. At least that's what I heard, but I'm not positive. Don't matter, I like the way they do it

Anybody remember the Tiny Toons episode with TMBG music videos in cartoon style? lol or am I dating myself?

<edit> Okay, I've found something about Eartha Kitt singing it, and also Four Lads dunno! </edit>

I think you might be right about istanbul, but they can do a great job with the song. Would love to see them in concert as well.

That is my favorite Tiny Toons episode of all time. I happened across it on television about a month ago.

Also rock and classical music share the speed of how the music is conducted, fast or slow.

I can understand why classical is so popular, it's so varied and has so many facets. Plus, everyone likes at least one classical piece.

I listen to pretty much anything except Rap, Country, Hardcore, Stupid pop (I like quality pop music).

Mostly I listen to electronic and metal sub-genres.
