Sudden downloads???

I really like the music on ShoutCast. I have a question about something...
When ever I click on to a ShoutCast channel I see a very brief download screen flash on my monitor.
I have seen these described as "drive by downloads".
This happens everytime I go to a channel. Can anyone tell me what is being downloaded to my PC, and why? I think I should have everything I need to play Shoutcast music already.

you are downloading the winamp playlist so that your player can find the url to the station. it's perfectly normal.
