Low latency line-in?

In another thread someone was talking about a low-latency line-in plug-in.. I use the normal linein:// plugin that is standard in winamp but that buffers a few secs... Milkdrop doesn''t seem to listen to the buffer but to the direct stream (AFAIK) but I'd like to have a unbuffered/low-latency line-in so everything is synched

what do you suggest?
