remotely control winamp
i wish that i could have winamp running all the time (maybe just as a service with no gui) on a server on my lan...then rather than streaming mp3's onto another computer to be decoded by winamp, i could use winamp as a client on any computer to have the mp3's open up and be decoded on the server, which would be hooked up to my receiver...that way, i could control the music coming out of my receiver from any computer in the house...if i had a laptop with a wireless card in it, that would be dope...that would free up bandwidth on the lan since no more streaming is done, and offload the decoding from the computer being used to control winamp...
sorry if this has been requested, i am new here and only took a quick look around... |

thanks a lot...that winamprc one looks promising, i am going to try it out...i also did manage to find WWWinamp, which seems cool also...these plugins/apps still seem a little less sophisticated than i would really want though...it would be really nice if i could be looking at the actualy winamp gui and have complete functionality...i know that is asking a lot though...
sorry i didn't do more searching before i posted this wish... |
