Relay not dropping/reconnecting - plus YP station list order
I tried everything I can think of .. I used about 6 different search strings to search the forums .. and ... sorry but I can't find any answer .. please be patient.
I have a broadcast station with 6 streams (Linux 1.9.2), a US relay with 12 more (Win32 1.9.2), nice, clean streams, and a Polish one (FreeBSD 1.9.2) which is not so good (lots of dropouts etc). I want to use the US relay as my principal backup relay, and the Polish one as a last resort ... but I have 2 problems ... First ... My main station dropped for a few minutes today, and instead of reconnecting, the US relay seems to be continually repeating its buffer (about 15-20 seconds of the tune which was playing when I dropped). Its logfile shows the usual [yp-tch] messages about registering and selecting a backup server, but it just doesn't drop and reconnect. Second ... The YP server seems to just add the station which was the last to connect, to the top of the playlist file. I need to force it to take the main station first, the US relay next and the Polish one last ... also, the allocation of backup server seens to work the same way ... always the last one connected is the one chosen as a backup for the ones "below" ... Are there ways to force a priority chain? Am I doing something stupid? Might the not-reconnecting be a bug? Might there be a parameter which I inadvertently set wrongly which causes the relay not to reconnect? 've gone from a position < 200 in the top 1000 to >600 because of lost listeners ... so any help would be greatly appreciated. |
