Email? I'd still have to download it.

If you meant snail mail it's probably not necessary. I downloaded slackware 8.1 to run on an ics server im building, but it'll be a few weeks until i have the $ to finish it (have to buy a new dvd player first), so i'll just download 9 slowly.

Nah, on 28k server speed matters little. Actually, it would be faster downloading directly from an ftp server as i can use multiple simultaneous connections with DAP. Zipping wont achieve much, as it'd already be compressed.

an ISO version, i mean. the only way they list of making a bootable CD-ROM from those files only works through linux. if you look through, they have a version of 8.1 in .iso (cd image - burnable) format. i understand that not all the packages will fit on one CD, but they could at least release the majority of them (if you leave out gnome or kde, there's enough space)... i can't download that many single files from an external FTP, i have to use a browser, which doesn't allow that sort of thing...

I swear I just got the version 9 ISO from there.

Try this then:
ftp://ftp.sunet.se/pub/Linux/distrib...kware-9.0-iso/

or some more of the mirrors here:

that's where i was looking

i was just wondering if anyone knew a UK mirror, as my university pays for transatlantic bandwidth, and i don't wanna encumber them with it. i'll either wait for them to put the ISO on there or dl it from somewhere else...
