How to get stream from external source
Hello,
is it possible to somehow get a stream from another external source (shoutcast server) and promote this stream via an own shoutcast server? The idea behind that is to provide a unique radio-stream from another stream and that not every client has to get this stream by himself (which costs lots of bandwith with more listeners you have). I set up the shoutcast linux server (current version) and the broadcast tool for linux, but I can not see any config providing such streaming. Thanks for your help in advancve... Oliver Neumann |

Setup your DNAS to relay the other DNAS.
code: RelayPort = The other DNASs portBase RelayServer = The other DNASs ip |

well there is a easier way in my oppnion.
Go to shoutcast.com with winamp running, and your shoutcast streaming. and then find the show then hit listen. Good things about this are 1> Make your own stream name at your own bitrate ex. show A broadcasts at 128kbs: show b (you) can broadcast at 56K or lowerer for low quality listeners 2> You can put in your own comercials when they break, nifty huh! but if your supporting them why don't you just put it in and go. 3> No relaying and changing and restarting of your server required. just some musts: I do like to do this sometimes but you must try to change your title and stuff in the shoutcast DSP and name it like show name stream #2 (lower Bitrate). Thats just curtious. Since your trying to help this station. NOw if your supporting Digitally imported uhhh not a real good idea. If you know what I mean. Just relay and everybody will be happen then. but I hope I gave you another way to re-broadcast as I call it peace. Good Luck |

Looking at a severe lag time if you do this tho. For some things that would not be a problem, but say you're doing a live show, it can be as much as 5 minutes behind "live".
