nsvscsrc Crashing

hello, im using windows xp pro and trying to run nsvscsrc to stream movies, every time it tries to connect to my shoutcast server (which is on a linux server) it crashes.

This might be usefull:

C:\Program Files\NSVtools>nsvscsrc 192.168.2.103:8000:headers.txt C:\321.nsv
[re]Connecting to 192.168.2.103:8000

once it gets to this point it crashes.
I do have a headers.txt configured and my linux server is logged in as root when i tried. I also tried port 8001 but it did the same.

Also i have another question, how do you stream movies like a playlist and have it repeate once it reaches the end of the playlist.

you need to point to a directory of NSV files not just a single one.

Got it to work. Thanks alot. But i have more problems. First sound is off sync with the picture but i think it is an enoding problem. Second my sever has an error saying the yp.shoutcast.com cannot see me. In other words it thinks port 8000 is closed. But i have it open on my firewall/NAT. And i am logged in as root on my server. And before this when it worked (i dont know how) it did not work on the client side. But it workes smoothly on my windows xp w/ Shcst Server (localhost). Does the linux version of shoutcast server not support NSV?

shoutcast by nature supports any format you throw at it.

Windows and Nix are the same. Check www.radiotoolbox.com/cantheygetin/ from the server's machine and see if it can get in, if it can, you could try changing the yport in the configuration from 80 to 666 and see if that makes a difference.

I kind of thought, when I run nsvscsrc I run :
C:\Program Files\NSVtools>nsvscsrc 192.168.2.103:8001:headers.txt C:\Videos
Try running the higher port, and running the directory.

so far there is only one problem left. It streams mp3 music ok, but nsv never comes up on the client side. The title in winamp keeps blinking and i think it said prebuffering and it keeps doing this. Im streaming over my network so there should not be any buffering problems, i hope.

did you put ;stream.nsv at the end of your address

IE: http://localhost:8000/;stream.nsv

Yes, you need to add the ending in when you hit CTRL L, Then to check to see your listener count there should be a libary with you listed. Enjoy.

i finally got it all to work , i might actually start broadcasting movies by the end of next week. Im already encoding the matrix and a couple more . Thanks for all that helped.

I'm running windows xp pro and nsvscsrc continues to crash when calling a single nsv file. Anybody have any idea as to why? I'm using the latest nsv pack as well.

String:

cd c:\program files\nsvtools\
nsvscsrc IP:Port:headers.txt d:\name.nsv

nsvscsrc requires a folder, not a single file. Create a folder and put just that file in it.

I've tried that as well. It crashed as it's trying to connect to ip and port. I only have this issue when trying to play a single file.

Here the win xp pro error report:

AppName: nsvscsrc.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: nsvscsrc.exe
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00003c84

then make a copy of that file with another name so you have two files in that directory but both are the same video. That should resolve the crashing. To the end user it will look like the same video file looping anyway.

I guess I don't understand what the problem is, all I can say is it works fine here with 1 or more files in the directory

I only get crashes when I incorrectly specify the Video directory.
