Stuck 3/4's of the way...
Ok well i have encoded the files i wanted into .NSV format and have set up the server. Next thing is to do was to type nsvscsrc as i was streaming a single file. It looked as follows:
C:\Program Files\NSVtools>nsvscsrc 204.117.0.95:8001:headers.txt C:\ [Jackass.ns v] Adding file to list: 'Jackass.nsv' Adding file to list: 'stream.nsv' [re]Connecting to 204.117.0.95:8001 Opening file '[Jackass.nsv]'...Failed connect:'204.117.0.95':'8000' Opening file 'C:\\stream.nsv'...Success done sending title info [re]Connecting to 204.117.0.95:8001 [re]Connecting to 204.117.0.95:8001 So this is where im stuck... what do i do next, once the files have been added to the list? Any Ideas? |

On the server side it keeps saying: "Invalid Password Code From.." However i have checked and double checked.. the password in headers.txt is the same as the sv serv.ini file...

well for one thing in your command just have
nsvscsrc 204.117.0.95:8001:headers.txt C:\ not nsvscsrc 204.117.0.95:8001:headers.txt C:\ [Jackass.nsv] could you post your headers.txt file (replace your password with a fake one) -Jay | Radio Toolbox.com |

yes I realize that, but in order to trouble shoot the problem when need to make your setup as accurate as possible. There is no magic answer to this, just troubleshooting until it fixes itself. If the passwords are exactly the same, case and all. Then it could be possible that the password is not a valid one because you used invalid characters or it could be that a change in the headers.txt file has caused the nsvscsrc program to incorrectly parse the file to get the password.

ok im back.. and this is what i got i will edit the passwords so noone can use them but this is what i type in the command prompt:
C:\Program Files\NSVtools>nsvscsrc 80.60.84.31:8001:headers.txt C:\ Adding file to list: 'Jackass.nsv' Adding file to list: 'stream.nsv' [re]Connecting to 80.60.84.31:8001 connect:'80.60.84.31':'8000' Opening file 'C:\\Jackass.nsv'...Success done sending title info THen it shows this in the server: <04/28/03@23:12:52> [source] listening for connection on port 8001 <04/28/03@23:14:42> [source] invalid password from code: 80.60.84.31 <04/28/03@23:14:52> [source] invalid password from code: 80.60.84.31 And in the command prompt keeps doing this: [re]Connecting to 80.60.84.31:8001 [re]Connecting to 80.60.84.31:8001 [re]Connecting to 80.60.84.31:8001 [re]Connecting to 80.60.84.31:8001 So the headers.txt looks like this: code: changeme content-type:video/nsv icy-metadata:0 icy-name:Movie Server icy-genre:Video icy-pub:1 icy-br:128 icy-url:http://www.com icy-irc:N/A icy-icq:N/A icy-aim:N/A icy-reset:1 And the sc_serv.ini looks like this: MaxUser=32 Password=changeme PortBase=8000 And as u can see they are identical.. these were not the ones but as an example... there is nothing wrong i even tried it with it like this.. |

Have you tried sending changeme as the password in headers.txt? It is possible that there is a problem in the DNAS reading sc_serv.ini so it assumes the defaults. If this is the case there should be an evidence of this in the DNAS log.

code: isn't your password is it? In the DNAS log it shows you what the source is sending as the password and according to it 'code:' is what you are sending

I'm sorry, I'm about where master is. It keeps giving me the password invalid error in shoutcast. I read what you have about DNAS, but I have no clue what that is. The closest thing I found in the sc_serv.ini, was the DNAS log entry. I ran a search on my computer and cannot find it at all. Appearently it doesn't exist. But in the sc_serv.ini it says to make one. Oww. My head is hurting again...
