Interrupted stream

Hi

I've recently installed a Linksys BEFW11S4 (Wireless Access Point Router) @ my dad's home. But when he's trying to listen to a Shoutcast station it's stream get's interrupted. I tried Winamp 2 & 3. It's a fresh Win2k install. I tried tweaking the buffer settings but that merely helped.

Any help is really appriciated.

PS: It seems this forum only contains questions from broadcasters, not from listeners. I noticed some of the broadcasters are seeing quick disconnects from listeners, maybe this is related?

Regards
Mark

ok so your trying to listen to the stream yea? not hosting the stream.

if thats the case what do u mean by interupted?

buffering? doesn't start? etc

if your hosting the stream, then check the shoutcast server logs to see if its logging errors

Nope, I'm not hosting the stream. I'm just trying to listen to any stream. It starts buffering but after exactly 5 seconds it's stop playing. If I tune the buffer, I can get up to 10 seconds, but never longer. I'm connected with a 1Mb (down) DSL so I don't see the problem :S

you may want to run a speed test from http://www.dslreports.com/stest/ to ensure that you are getting the advertised speeds. Does this only happen when the router is in place?

i have a dlink wireless router here, and the wireless network keeps dropping out. it goes right back on after a second or two....just a spontaneous loss of signal. could this be your problem?
