bit rate question

I used to be able to stream at 24kbps at 16hz, but now it needs to be at 22hz, which results as more buffer problems on slower connections. Is there a way around this high hz problem?

Try the 1.8.0 DSP version.

It allows you to use system codecs rather than LAME.

Check out the Sticky post titled:
SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME!

Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled:
General SHOUTcast Information -> Where can I download the old version of SHOUTcast DSP?

Are you serious?

Follow these steps:
  • Count down three threads. The one you want is titled "Sticky: SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME!" and it has an icon next to it. Click the thread link.
  • In the page that loads, find "SHOUTcast: Everything that you need to know!".
  • Scroll down a few lines until you see "IMPORTANT!". We're almost there.
  • Scroll down a bit more until you see "General SHOUTcast Information". Really close now.
  • Count down two links. The one you want is titled "Where can I download the old version of SHOUTcast DSP?" Click it.

hehe, very detailed indeed.
I couldn't find it because I searched for the member name "sticky" and he/she doesn't exsist. Then I searched for a title under that name and there was no result. So that is why I couldn't find it.
There was no mention that it was on the main page.

I thought I was going crazy(ier).

For post direction, I use "Check out the Sticky post titled:"

For search direction, I use "Check out the results from a SHOUTcast forum search on '<keywords>'."

[edit1]
oops, wrong file
[/edit1]

[edit2]
Look for this filename:
Shoutcast_1.8.0_DSP_Win32.exe
[/edit2]
