[yp_add]...//...gave extended error...

Every few minutes, Shoutcast connection disconnects and the message [ [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (please type something else in the stream title/description field)] shows up. Why does it keep doing this and how can I keep the connection going? And yes I have been typing something else in that field, but what is it wanting me to type there and where is the stream title/description field (in case i'm doing this in the wrong place)?

do you have an aim address? if so, make sure theres no spaces in it.

Check out the results from a SHOUTcast forum search on 'stream title field'.

Look for a post by airkick titled:
"Plz type something else in the stream title"

Note: Other search criteria may yield more results.

Please do exactly that: type something else in the stream title/description field.

Winamp -> SHOUTcast DSP plugin -> Output tab -> Yellowpages button -> Description

I have tried that multiple times. The fact that the instructions to do just that made it my first priority to follow what appeared to be very simple instruction therefore, taking into concideration that I served 6 years in Military Intelligence, I figured that I should not be so dumb as to overlook the possibility that putting something different in that field might just possibly be the answer to my huge delima in this case. And so now that I have done that and did it again and again, I am forced to remember what Einstien once quoted in one of his earliest writings when he stated (in a variation of exact words) "...to the respect that I have for making every attempt to complete an equasion, repeating the same steps over and over again only to receive the same results can most certainly be concidered an appropriate definition of 'Crazy'."

Do you have any other suggestions? I really would like to get this problem taken care of soon. I just hope that this conversation topic doesnt continue to be repeated over an over again or I will have to be forced into commiting myself to a mental institution before the end of the week.

try removing any spaces from anything in the IRC; AIM areas. Also Forein Characters may be an issue, true removing those.

Make sure you have the correct Output selected when you type something into the description field.
