Don't create any metallic skins.

That's what he was trying to do with this skin. Then we all told him that it doesn't look like metal, and that one of the reasons we all like it so much is because it isn't a metallic skin.

I mean, why should he make a metallic skin? There are already 100s of good metallic skins out there, so what's he going to achieve by making one more? This skin, on the other hand, is quite unique, and will fill a niche that is as of yet almost unpopulated.

What the fuck are you talking about? How many friggin' times do I need to explain to you before you understand: Mr_007 never annoyed me because he was Iranian, nor because his English was poor. He annoyed me because he was one of the worst post-pumpers we've ever had here. What is it you don't understand about that?

this skni looks greas so far, but personally, I think this skin would look even better if it had transparency on the edge insead of that background.

the transparency wouldnt work at all

i think it would look alot better if the colors were more toward red and not brown. or maybe even having certain pieces slightly different colors(ie.red on the sides and brown toward the center)....or some kind of variation of that.

the top corners look out of place with the transparency. ur erasing skills are just fine btw. a lot better than mine.

semi-off topic, but not really:

is "artemis" the final name? if not, i think since it has a stoney/mech look, perhaps "prototype" would work. idk, just throwing out ideas.

the reason your screenshot looks semi-good is because you've done it in PS(the auto-anti-aliasing)

winamp2 isnt capable of curves that smooth.
try making the transparency in mspaint to see how it'll really look.

As long as you do something interesting with the border area, I think that there should be no transparency, although I think transparency hypothetically could work. I think some of the emptier areas could use more texture, but you're probably still doing that stuff. Love the overall feel!

good point. I'll take anti-aliasing off and see what happens.

here it is with icons in the BG.

btw, if you still like how it looks with no transparency, keep it with none, it is by all means your skin. I am just showing you that i think it would look nifty if it had transparency. Perhaps I will edit my version to be transparent, idk. (my version = when the final is released, i download it, make it transparent mytself, and never release the results). Right now I am just trying to show that it would not look that bad (in my eyes) transparent.

Some erasing skills you got there. I have to admit, it looks half decent. But I think that the border/frame/port thing that I used gives the skin a certain feel about it. A very different feel. I know that there are going to be people screaming at me for no transparency. Maybe I'll do what ripe did in his skin "Quiddity," have a file called "REGIONOFF" and give instructions on how to turn it on. That's for the ones who disagree with me. But for now, the frame stays.

well good deal then I'm glad I could help, and erasing wasn't that hard. If it was on teh outside and was not black, it was erased. if it was black, it stayed. Then I just stuck it on a bacgroudn colour and cleaned it up (no pun inteanded). Didn't take long at all, and if I rememebr correctly, there is a program which will create a region.txt file for you.

Transparency would be cool, but I think it would be hard to keep the flow into the playlist since it can't have transparency. I agree that the best thing to do would be your "regionoff" idea. The frame is great too. This skin rules, keep up the good work

ripe's regionoff technique might not work. The frame is continuous. If somebody were to turn the transparency on, there'd be a third of a frame in the playlist. And I don't really want to make the playlist full size.

it will be otu when it is done. Let me lay down a few quick unoffical rules for you.

One) if you don't plan on commenting on the skin, don't post
Two) do NOT ask when it will be released. 99.9% of the skins on here are done in the authors free time, and the skin can take from a few hours to make to a year and a half.
Three) do not ask about other skins the author has made. This coinsides (sp?) with rule #1. The skinners make these threads to get comments on THIS skin. Not others they have made. Not othes other people have made.

If you have any qustions, DO NOT post them here, PM me or a moderator or someone, but this thread needs not to be derailed any further. The only reason I posted this here rather than PMing you, is so that other people can see, learn, and obide.
