ACM Host (1.8.0 issue)

As you may know, my station sounds like crap, thanks to LAME sounding horribe on 56k broadcasts. Anyway, I try using 1.8.0 to solve my problems, however, when I use it, I get a message saying 'error resolving ACM host' or something like that. What is an ACM host and what does this error mean? I never get it using 1.8.2.

This is a sig of some nature.

Check out the results from a SHOUTcast forum search on 'ACM'.

Look for a post by anafrin titled:
error ACM Streaming

Note: Other search criteria may yield more results.

I believe Windows Media Players installs the Advanced version of the Fraunhofer mp3 codec.

Ok, I have it, but now when I go to install it, it asks for 'lame_acm.xml'. Where would I get this?

Ok, so I got my ACM problem solved, but now 1.8.0 is encoding in LAME instead of the default. The whole reason I use 1.8.0 is to avoid LAME. How do I get 1.8.0 back to using whatever it uses to make 56kbps sound good?

This is a sig of some nature.
