sharp fall in listener count
Hi
I am doing Otto's Baroque Musick Sometimes I loose something like 20 listeners at the same time ( I only support 36) that is a big number for me. stream is working, server is working fine too I find it very unlikely that 20 listeners are switching off at the same time. Does someone had a similiar experience or better has an explanation for it? Thanks Otto

are u sure that your source to the shoutcast server didn't underrun, if it did, it will make loads of listeners buffer, some peoples connections maybe able to pull the data quick enough to not buffer
i have noticed that if the source underruns most of the time it kicks the user, by that i mean, winamp doesn't automatically re-buffer and start streaming again are you sure thats not happening and its kicking masses of people off in one go, and the few that remain connected just managed to stay online |

Hmmm...
Source underrun may well be the issue as I am streaming from far away Hong Kong, but why is it that it only happens to my 24K stream and not to my 64 K stream. How to best avoid source underruns like this? Thanks |

Try streaming to a local DNAS and let the main one relay it.
