To fix the "<05/25/03@19:20:10> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (please type something else in the stream title/description field)" error, you need to type something else in the stream title/description field.
Check out the results from a SHOUTcast forum search on 'stream title field'. Look for a post by airkick titled: "Plz type something else in the stream title" Note: Other search criteria may yield more results. |

What do I put in the address box in the output tab of the Shoutcast source? I mistakenly deleted it. Also, where do I get a "1.8.2 of the SHOUTcast DSP". I'm so dumb... I don't understand. Hopefully this will be the end of all the questions, but I'm certianly getting it fast. Thanks for all the help!!

if your using shoutcast it should automacticy list you into the yp (yellow page), as long as you have your server listed as public (default option btw)
and you know your listed when you get the yp.shoutcast.com successfully added me! yp.shoutcast.com Touched note: it may take up to 15 min after the first yp.shoutcast.com touch before your listed in the yp |

Two (or less) easy steps:
1. If you have a firewall, open the necessary port(s). 2. If you have a router, configure it to forward the necessary port(s) to the DNAS machine. Check out the Sticky post titled: SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME! Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled: DNAS Stuff -> Errors -> Fixing [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx) from the Internet, disable NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out) Are the necessary ports open in your firewall and are they being forwarded to the DNAS machine? Check out http://www.radiotoolbox.com/cantheygetin and see if the reported information there helps. |

I went to Is it open and checked. Heres what it came up with:
Is my port open? 207.6.224.217:8000 is Closed Reason Given: Connection refused More about this error: This essentially means that the port is open to the internet but has no services associated with it. There is no firewall protection on this port. |

If it has no firewall, then what could possibly be blocking it?
Hmm...can Kazaa cause this error? |

I'm sharing the internet with my Dad's computer. We're using
Net Gear Model MA101. If that's what is causing it, then how can I fix that with out completely getting rid of my internet altogether? |
