I love drawing. This is a ref sketch of my roleplay character Ayumi that I doodled a little while ago. I'm not very good though.
(WIP) ![]() And this is a quick ref sketch of my boyfriend's alter-ego as a tiger. Rawr. My boyfriend is 18 and actually the same height as me- pretty short- but it's so adorable and he's so squishy-looking. I tried to point that out in this pic. (WIP) |

In my country it's illegal for someone to be 14 and to be dating someone who is 18. But hey that's just here.
You aren't that bad at drawing though (imo). I'd suggest moving away from the anime, cartoonish styles though. |

It's best to learn to draw from real life, then try to develop a style. Still, it can be a kind of neat practice to try and mimic other styles.
Here's something of mine, bit old, but anyways: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/44822488/ |

You're getting much better. You could work on blending everything together instead of using the pencil marks as a means of shading. Stumps and tortillions are seriously like 5 cents each. Other than that, make sure when you upload a drawing (this goes for photography too) that it's viewable. I'm on 1280X1024 and I had to side scroll to see the whole image. It's always wise to resize and add an unsharp mask. You may miss some meticulous detail but it'll be better on the viewer's part.

Wow. It's been, like... four years since I posted in this thread. I decided to start drawing again, and so, I had to acquire some new resources. My weapons of choice: Pentel Forte Pro II automatic drafting pencils firing lead ammunition in 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, and 0.9mm calibers. My target is a Strathmore Sketch 400-series wire-o side-bound sketchbook with 100 sheets of lightly textured 60-lb general purpose sketch paper that measure 8.5" x 5.5" total drawing area.
![]() I can't think of any better way to start off a new sketchbook than with a drawing of a customized 1994 Peterbilt 379. Of course, it's not finished yet. I'll take a better picture or scan it when it's done. To compliment this sketchbook, I've also got two more Strathmore sketchbooks. One is 400-series hardbound with 96 sheets of lightly textured 60-lb general purpose sketch paper measuring 8.5" x 5.5" drawing area. The other is 300-series wire-o top-bound with 100 sheets of lightly textured 50-lb general purpose sketch paper measuring 3.5" x 5" drawing area. I've also got a Daler-Rowney wire-o side-bound sketchbook that doubles as a journal measuring 10" x 7" drawing area. All of them are very nice, and I can't wait to fill them with drawings.

I can't really draw well, but for some reason I decided to post this - drew it sometime in '97 - '99. I had been in a car accident while riding in a friend's car and had to get a cut on my hand fixed.

It was one of those things where the wreck was bad enough that I didn't even know I was hurt until after I caught my breath. That and an elbow bruise is all I had though. The driver only had a nasty seat belt rash - looked like a long hickey. We were pretty lucky.

Yes, Maybe not sure really
I do my artwork online with a graphics tablet I usually like to draw animated characters or people. Hope these are okay, I dont know how to upload pics. Sory 2 pictures are VERY large I dont know how to resize without ruining the detail ill change them when I can.

@ Samantha_J - I liked your pics a lot - especially the half cat half gal drawing. You can search for a windows "powertoy" that is a free download that resizes pictures. I think a perfect fit for these forums is 587 pixels wide, but being too wide on this thread isn't that much a crime, especially since you didn't go far too overboard. Keeping the quality was probably worth the stretch in your case.
@ mike-db - nice, but who's Kate? Do tell! (Hopefully that's not her in your pic...)

Oh I met her in a Tim Hortons, we were in the same line and ordered the exact same thing. Found it kinda funny and it just kinda kicked off from there.

The previous skull (from the "Kate" picture) might work better considering it had more face and less top skull area. Both are well done, but I found the first one more to my liking.
