Thumbs up Most Controversial Game!!!

I think the most controversial game out there is Postal 2 and SOF2.

Postal 2 = All you do is run around and blow the shit out of people who say fuck off all the time. Extremely gory and also has Gary Coleman as a guest. I think they got arabs in there too!

SOF2 = Realistic warfare with GHOUL technology which allows players to dismember their enemies. I blew the head off one an their brains were lying on the ground and blood was spewing at the top like a leaky spigot. If you grenade them, they're blood spots everywhere (walls, floors) and a huge puddle of their intestines or whats left of them.

So what you think is the most violent/controversial game ever!!

E.T. for the atari 2600. It was the worst game of all time, made in 3 weeks, and 2 million cart.'s where made, all got returned and put in some landfill.

OHH... you mean by the violence level? Any of the littel girl or "educational" "games". Not for the violence in the game, but the violence it makes you do as you rip the game to nothing and attack everything in a violent rage after playing it for 5 hours...... Not like I know first hand or anything.....

I know of this only by word of mouth, I was not even a thought in the world at that time, so I dont know how really bad it was.

all I know is you drop into pits, and have to mash bottons to get out, and you do that over and over untill you find some part of that "phone".

Worst game Idea ever. Worst then Superman 64, god that was a BAD game.

It was exactly like that, but I never understood why I wasn't supposed to get caught by the kid on the bike (eliott?).

I don't think that any game could really be regarded as controversial. It is just that the detail of games has got better. SOF2 features nothing new - its still running around killing, but the fact that you can pick off someones limbs individually is testament to tecnology.

Well perhaps that white supremasist game that involved killing black people is controversial. Or maybe it isn't, it just features subject matter that most people woudl rather not have presented to them in a game format.

E.T. still isn't half as bad as Ghost Recon. You'd have to hire people to piss over it before throwing it into the landfill.

Well you know how all those people hated Grand Theft Auto: Vice City when it came out.

But this isn't a matter of opinion, it's a matter of fact. One game out there has caused more controversy than anything else.

Doom, Duke Nukem, and any of the Grand Theft Auto series are the ones you read about when the violent video game debate hits the papers. So there's your answer.

They tried to stop Vice City from coming out. On the other hand people say that GTA helps your reflexs. But what game dosen't?

Nothing can be more realistic than GTA:VC. The car physics are almost lifelike and yes it does test reflexes...

I was surprised the US Army released their training software out into the mainstream for free. It's now an instant hit and it is real as it can get.

I remember the original GTA caused a lot of controversy, great game too

but the one that got the most attention was Mortal Kombat back in 1992

Mortal Kombat in '92 went head to head with Night Trap on sega CD at the same time if I remember rightly for most news coverage of "evil video games our kids are playing"

Course if you want to get technical about it, back in '85 or '86 it was the video game incarnation of Friday the 13th movie that was stiring all the shit with the moral majority.

"Oh the outrage that this X rated film is available for our kids to play"

This is a scan of a letters page of a magazine the featured the game on it's cover the month before, along with loads of 13th related images in it's previews...
ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/si...ash2500032.jpg

And this is the magazine advert for it ...
ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/si...dayThe13th.jpg

Us kids were more outraged that the game was so piss poor.

It's funny because that game doesn't seem as violent compared to present games.

Along those lines is Under Ash where you are a "peaceful" Palestinian who goes around killing Israelis.

Of course if you wanted a really contriversial game just make one where you're an Israeli who kills Palestinians and then the shit would hit the fan.

I remembered when animal rights activists were trying to rid Primal Rage for Genesis off the shelves cuz it promotes animal abuse. Blood and gore plus fucked up animals fighting. I thought the game was the shiz back then. Same thing went for the hunting games for a short time.

I wonder how games would be if we didn’t have those ratings. Just think how violent they would be.

The thing about the newer mortal kombat games is the blood looks much more real. It's not just a red circle popping off the character’s back.

In Puerto Rico, the most controversial game was "killer instinct" for a good while..
all the adults thought it was a game created by Satan
to warp our young minds..
so of course me and my brother and cusses had to check it out..
it was just a very supped up version of mortal combat..
we weren't impressed and after a week we tossed it to the side looking for other games.
My parents still shake their heads at the thought of the game
the title and the picture upfront is what bugged them really cause the game was rather tame to me to me when I got a hold of it, just smoother graphics. and that fact u had a different walking map than mortal combat ( which was controversial also when it came out)

Killer Instinct was an awesome game. We played that to death in Vs mode. I always lost to my brother

Didn't seem all that controversial here though.

I rented State of Emergency when it first came out. I was a bit jaded after killing 1900 people in a mall in just a few minutes.

Mortal Kombat was pretty lame. I'd played Street Fighter II, and that was a lot of fun, and challenging, and took a long while to beat. I beat MK in just a couple hours. And I wasn't very good at that kind of game. Boring.
